The Sigma Outline is an aerodynamic “bird-in-flight” shape that moves much of the center canopy area behind the tow point, resulting in a kite that has unmatched stability even at an extremely low angle of attack. The Sigma Outline also provides a linear power band and bar pressure, with very easy water relaunch.

Blending the pop and lift of a C-kite with the power control and turning of a swept leading edge kite. In addition, the Swept Compact C-shape also provides ideal relaunch capabilities.

This proven airframe design delivers maximum pop and lift. The non-swept outline aligns the cen-ter of effort with the tow point for perfect loading through the canopy at all times resulting in power through the turn.

The curved leading edge and swept tips offer a unique blend of auto-relaunch and excellent de-power. These kites are quick turning at most bar positions, which provides for excellent control.

The Power Foil Canopy has hori-zontal seam shaping instead of vertical, which makes the canopy looser than with Geo Tech con-struction. The result is a kite that creates more instant lift.

The profile’s depth and shape evolves along the airfoil. The cen-ter sections generate power and speed. The tips are fast turning and minimize drag. This creates a fast flying, stable kite with less back stalling.

Radial Segment C-Shape gener-ates the C-arc using short linear segments to accurately form the kite’s arc.

Power Foil canopy in the center of the kite for increased power. Geo-Tech is used on the lower arc where angle of attack on the foil is low. This provides superior sta-bility, less drag and solid feel in the air.

Straight segments along the lead-ing edge provide constant tension on the canopy. This forms per-fect foil definition. It maintains a stable foil profile at any flying angle. The result is an unbeliev-ably smooth and stable kite with superior control.

The mix of C-shape characteris-tics coupled with the stability and canopy tension of Geo-Tech con-struction. The center of the kite is flat with a large angle at the S2 strut. This improves turning by allowing the kite to twist at the S2 position, while keeping the center section of the canopy with clean airflow for consistent power in the turn.

30 31

2011

This proven, quick, and easy single point inflation sys-tem creates uniform pressure in the struts and leading edge. The Naish exclusive one way internal valve en-sures that the pressure in the struts does not change during turns.

The angle of attack on the wing tips has been increased to keep them more actively engaged. When bar input is added, the wingtip instantly reacts and produces drag, while the opposite wing tip instantly accelerates, which creates quicker turning.

This wing tip geometry reduces the overall surface on the non-lifting portion and greatly reduces drag. The more efficient the lift/drag ratio becomes, the faster the wing tip can move through the air, which allows the kite to be both quicker and more responsive through turns.

The Shift System has the fifth line locked in one direction at the split of the front line, so that it can only been pulled from the rider’s side, which depowers the kite instantly. It also supports the arc, allowing the Torch to have a small leading edge diameter for superior performance.

It is now extremely easy to access the valve in case of bladder replacement.

With all the new options available in light wind boards, riders are pushing the envelope of what is considered rideable. The new LWR (Light Wind Relaunch) gives the rider complete confidence when going out in the lightest of wind. This system lifts the wingtip independent of the rear leader line, and cups the trailing edge for instant relaunch. The LWR works when nothing else will.

Rider’s input on one back line makes the kite pivot around one point and launch.

All wing tips are designed with seams running parallel to the load generated by the flying lines. These seams carry most of the load and spread it higher into the canopy. This construction avoids fatigue on the fabric and in the wing tip area.

Auto-relaunch allows the kite to naturally roll on its side and move to the edge of the wind window, waiting for the rider’s input to launch.

Rider’s input on the shift line and back line make the kite roll on its side and launch.

Every strut is now attached to a frame of heavy duty Dacron that is then sewn onto the canopy for unmatched resistance to wear and heavy load.

Optimal trailing edge protection with a molded re-inforcement at the end of each strut.

Patches along LE segments to protect the seams.

Internal Aramid Reinforcements at all LE angles to support and strengthen the Geo-Tech construction.

Large thermo-molded bumpers wrap around the leading edge, which provide seam protection when landing and launching the kite.

This construction provides better twist control of the leading edge, and improves turning performance.

All Naish pumps now include a built in inflation pressure gauge. This provides optimum bladder pressure to maximize the kite’s performance.

A double Velcro flat enclosure ensures that the zip-per will not fail under load.

From bladders to stitching, every naish kite has been meticulously checked to pass the highest quality control in the industry. every detail is scrutinized before the kite leaves the factory to produce a product you can trust.

A reduction in the number of pieces used in the struts means more precision in defining the canopy profile. The seams are also reinforced with an ex-tra layer of webbing, and double zigzag stitches to avoid breakage.

All LE inflation valves incorporate a ball system to eliminate air escape when removing the pump nozzle.

The deflate valve has a double Velcro closure design to ensure closure during impact.

The Thorn CC delivers the most direct power for light-wind efficiency, upwind drive and explosive freestyle pop on-demand. The Thorn’s relatively more parallel outline, wider tips and low rocker-line perfectly balance locked-in grip with essential control.

We described the 2010 Thorn CC as having the “power to win”. And win it did. Kevin Langeree rode the 2010 Thorn CC 132cm to the top of the podium to finish as the 2009 PKRA World Champion.

The development objective from Kevin for 2011 was to add more board control for landing fully powered, but without sacrificing any of the Thorn’s blistering top speed. We met this objective by tuning the flex in the midsection of the board.

The addition of composite I-beams through the wood core locked the top and bottom laminates into a higher-tension framework. This keeps the board from distorting under the extreme loads of hard landings. The last 20% to the tips of the board remain without I-beams to retain a softer flex, freeing up the lively responsiveness of the Thorn’s carbon-composite construction.

2011

Since the explosion of the racing scene in kiteboarding, raceboard designs have been going through radical changes.

While the potential was immediately realized for planing in much lighter wind, while pointing far higher upwind, the compromise in overall user friendliness kept boards of this design limited to the race course.

With the Venturi, Naish has developed the first competitive board in this category, with riding comfort far superior to anything else on the market.

So while boards designed to win will continue to evolve to meet the demands of the world’s most dedicated professional racers, the Venturi will endure as an amazing light-wind weapon that is actually enjoyable to ride!

For most of the conditions around the world, adding a Venturi to your board quiver will double the number of days you can kite.

Riders continue to expand their riding with new tools and riding styles. The wakeskate is the new board for extending the possibilities riding behind a kite.

The Naish Wakeskate is constructed using different densities of wood horizontally laminated in multiple plies for the ideal weight and flex.

A great addition to any quiver of boards, the wakeskate turns any condition into a good session. You will never get bored learning to nail new tricks.

Carbon Composite laminatesThe flex character, reflex response, anti-vibration, anti-distortion, weight and durability combination of the 2010 CC construction has been tuned into a higher-tension framework for 2011. The addition of composite I-beams through the wood core locks the top and bottom laminates.

optimized response FlexThe Optimized Response Flex is specifically tai-lored in combination with the Thorn CC's outline and rocker. It is moderately soft under lighter loads to allow the board to dynamically respond to input, while progressively stiffing in flex under higher loads to retain direct energy transfer between the rider and the board.

Pro Power PerformanceAbsolute top speed, efficiency, upwind drive, edg-ing power and control -- ideal for both our interna-tional team's freestyle competition, as well as pre-mium, versatile, advanced freeriding.

nASA/TeCh-2 laminatesOriginally developed for the 2009 Thorn, this construc-tion system builds a unique framework of different com-posite laminates over the top and bottom of the board in-terlocked by composite I-beams through the wood core.

hi-Ten response FlexWhen combining the NASA/TECH-2 laminates with the Momentum's exclusive rocker and outline, the result is a completely new performance. The Momentum rides amazingly higher, faster and smoother than with any other construction/shaping combination.

Pro Park PerformanceWhether you are pushing the limits of wakestyle riding like Sam Light or you are trying a load and pop a trick for the first time, the Momentum’s insane pop and forgiving handling will excel your riding to the next level.

benchmark laminatesThis lamination system is the same platform used on all our 2011 twin tips. The highest quality materials constructed in an exclusive, high-tech process makes Naish the industry's highest performance kiteboards.

enhanced Active FlexOur softest-tension flex (Active Flex) was enhanced with a revised core thickness taper at the tips for a more positive response performance. Power, effi-ciency, upwind drive and tracking were improved while still retaining easy control.

Freeride PerformanceUnlike Pro Performance boards, which are high-tuned with aggressive shaping and flex for ad-vanced freestyle riders, Freeride Performance boards are tuned-down for easier control and rider versatility.

The EPS core of every board is shaped by hand then the entire deck and bottom are wrapped in composite lami-nates, over-lapping on the rails.

On these laminates, the board is fully wrapped again in high-density, closed-cell foam.

After laminating additional layers of reinforcement, the board is finished with the final layers of composite lami-nates over the entire deck and bottom, once again over-lapping on the rails.

The result is the strongest possible strength to weight ratio for the ultimate in boardriding performance.

Tip2Tip hybrid wood CoreAll Thorn CC, Momentum and Haze boards feature a tip-to-tip solid wood core with a highly-developed thickness taper, and utilize a hybrid of different densities of vertically laminated wood.

This new core is combined with top and bottom laminates unique to each range. Each model is engineered with an exact flex characteristic for specific riding performance and unsurpassed durability.
