The Region

Le Marche: the only Italian region to "plural". This peculiarity reflects the characteristics of a region that is able to satisfy even the most demanding tourist.

His 5 provinces (the chief town Ancona, Pesaro and Urbino, Macerata, Fermo, Ascoli Piceno): different territori-es, miscellaneous for culture, taste and atmosphere, combined by the hospitality of the people, by the excellence of food and wine and by a fascinating and thousand of year history.

The Region is able to satisfy both those who thirst for culture and those who want to enjoy the relax or enjoying culinary delights, the sea and the mountain, the craft and the technology.

The innumerable abbeys and sanctuaries that trace the streets of faith cross with castles and fortresses that refer to ancients deeds.

Le Marche: the right union between past and future.

The Sea

More than 180km of coasts are able to satisfy everyone: from the regular and traditionalist traveler to the rec-kless explorer, offering real natural paradise. How not to mention the beautiful Riviera del Conero with Portonovo, Sirolo and Numana beaches, the unotuched shore reachable only by the sea as "Le Due Sorelle" with the many shades of green and blue that only crystal clear water has to offer.

Divided by the harbour there is Senigallia, called "The Velvet Beach" for its fine amber sand that allows long wal-ks on the beach and several bars, beach resorts and famous restaurants.

And again: the esotic Riviera delle Palme, between Cupra Marittima and San Benedetto del Tronto; the Macerata coast and the green Riviera Picena where the Mediterranean scrub overlooks directly on the sea.

The Mountain

The Appennino landscape, characteristic and relaxing all year, in winter becomes enchanted.

Snow-capped peaks offers glimpses of breathtaking views, possibility to play sports as ski and snowboard and that allow you to go hiking in close contact with nature.feather in the cap are the Sibillini Mountains that seems to trace a thin boundary line with Umbria region. Along the Appenines are hidden the Frasassi Caves, wonderful works chiseled by water and time: 190 mil-lions of year for a nature work so majestic and fragile at the same time, able to live due to its underground microclimate enclosed on the crossroads of gigantic limestone caverns that make us lose the sense of scale. In this context the Regional Parks, the National Park and the several Natural Reserves favour the close con-tact with Nature, preserving the unicity and reminding us in a pure and timeless dimension.

Food & Wine

Typical products of excellence as the fish of the Adriatic, cheeses, cured meats, some types of pasta, ex-travirgin olive oil, honey and jams, many of whom valued by DOP and IGP certification.

All simple and genuine products, always in the table of the Marche, that allow a wide range of recipes uni-que and particulars. To enhance this aspect more and more frequent are holidays and regional festivals, which make us rediscover ancient flavors.

A special mention must be made to the many wines produced and recorded in DOC and DOCG certification such as Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, Rosso Piceno, Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, Falerio Ascolano and Verdicchio di Matelica.

The Handicraft

Certainly the foundation of the Marche is based on small industry and handicrafts, and has meant that the usual activities have been transformed into companies since the Fifties.

There are several craft activities affecting the region. One of the areas well-known abroad is footwear industry mainly in the south of the region where it appears the city of Tolentino renowned for the manufac-ture of leather since medieval time.To the north of the region, particularly in the area of Pesaro, stands the furniture production.Well known is the production of paper in the Fabriano with a museum dedicated. Is also very active the production of musical instruments, it 's traditional the manufacturing of Accordion in Castelfidardo.

Art & Culture

Land that gave birth to many famous people in the various arts: the music of Rossini, Pergolesi, Spontini, Giacomo Leopardi's poems, architects and painters such as Bramante, Raphael and Gentile da Fabriano.

World-renowned artists who were inspired by these landscapes to write part of their compositions. Rich artistic and cultural heritage preserved in various museums, the region will discover little towns perched on the hills that retain the characteristics and medieval walls, towers, castles, squares and public buil-dings permanently restored.

The city's 'human scale' vibrant and culturally rich of exhibitions, shows and meetings. The region lends itself as a crossroads of the ancient Roman roads, keeper of paintings by Piero della Francesca and Lorenzo Lotto, le Marche is a continuous discovery of treasures from the great cultural value.

Spa & Wellness

Scattered throughout the Marche are the spas, rest, socialization and well-being as handed down by the ancient Romans.

Each province keeps its cradle relaxing: in the province of Pesaro and Urbino Terme di Monte Grimano, Pitinum Thermae in Macerata Feltria, Terme di Raffaello in Petriano and the Baths of Carignano in Fano, in the province of Ancona in the Terme dell'Aspio Camerano and the Terme San Vittore in Genga, in the province of Macerata in the Spa Saint Lucia Tolentino and the Baths of Sarnano, in the province of Fer-mo the Terme di Palme Torre di Palme and in the province of Ascoli Piceno the New Baths Acquasanta Acquasanta Terme.

Ancient baths, therapeutic sulfur springs here past and modern technology come together for the sole purpose of recreating the harmony between body and mind.
