Advent

Advent is the period that marks the beginning of the Christian liturgical year and includes the four weeks before Christmas. The color that represents it is pur-ple. The purpose of Advent is to alert the faithful to prepare themselves spiritually for Christmas. At Christmas God becomes human, without ceasing to be God, to express his closeness to the sinner, who needs inner peace and love. In Advent, we will re-member the long wait of the people of Israel de-scribed in the first readings of the mass. It was an Advent of several centuries. We also hope for salva-tion, in a short period of four weeks. It is suitable to do a plan or spiritual project for Advent.. For exam-ple, do not miss the Sunday celebration, reinforce the daily mass attendance and plan to attend the Advent confession service, participate in the inns and donate something for the poor. There will be no true Christmas, without a deep experience of Ad-vent. The world often distracts us and steals our at-tention in Jesus Christ. The Lord says on this first Sunday "watch and be prepared." The season is festive, is the joy of the Gospel that do not pass; it is recorded in the heart and family atmosphere. I wish everyone an Advent full of love and peace. Let us join the celebrations of the Parish and the Universal Liturgy of the Church. God bless you in Advent.

Adviento Es el es período que señala el comienzo del año litúr-gico cristiano y comprende las cuatro semanas ante-riores a la Navidad. El color que lo representa es el morado. El propósito del Adviento es alertar a los fie-les para prepararse espiritualmente a la Navidad. En Navidad Dios se hace humano, sin dejar de ser Dios, para expresar su cercanía con el pecador, quien nece-sita amor y paz interior. En El Adviento recordaremos la larga espera del pueblo de Israel, la cual estará descrita en las primeras lecturas de la misa. Fue un Adviento de varios siglos. También nosotros espera-mos la salvación, en un corto periodo de cuatro sema-nas. Es conveniente que hagamos un plan o proyecto espiritual para vivir el Adviento. Por ejemplo, no faltar a la celebración dominical, reforzar la asistencia la mi-sa diaria, planear la confesión de adviento, participar en las posadas y donar algo para los pobres. No ha-brá verdadera Navidad, sin una vivencia profunda del Adviento. Con frecuencia el mundo nos distrae y roba nuestra atención en Jesucristo. El Señor dice en este primer domingo “velen y estén preparados”. La tem-porada es realmente festiva, pero es la alegría del Evangelio que no pasa, sino que se lograr quedar gra-bada en el corazón y en ambiente familiar. Deseo a todo un adviento lleno de amor y paz. Unámonos a las celebraciones de la Parroquia y a la Liturgia Universal de la Iglesia. Dios los bendiga en Adviento.

Everyday Stewardship "What could happen next? " How many times have you asked yourself that question? Unfortunately, we most often use that expression when things don't seem to be going our way. Then sometimes when the stars seem to align just right we might use the same expression to explain our feelings of being over-whelmed by blessings and good things. Whether it will be a pleasant or dreadful experience, we can say with certainty tomorrow will not go exactly as we envisioned. Our lives are influenced by so many factors and the world is complex. Rather than be sur-prised by the unexpected, maybe we should expect the unexpected. Living in this manner causes us to cherish more deeply the gifts we have been given. It helps us to live in the present and become mindful of those around us. Our relationships deepen. Our sense of responsibility builds. Our stewardship way of life finds new meaning and purpose. This Advent will not be the same experience as last Advent. It remains to be seen what the coming days and weeks have in store for each of us. However, no matter what happens, Jesus Christ is there to welcome us to the unexpected. He will celebrate with us in joy and he will even feel our pain. You can count on the unexpected, but you can also count on him to be there

La corresponsabilidad diaria ¿Qué ocurrirá después? ¿Cuántas veces te has pre-guntado esta pregunta? Desafortunadamente, usamos a menudo esa expresión cuando las cosas no parecen ir como deberían. Entonces, a veces las cosas van bien y nos parece que estamos desbordados por ben-diciones y cosas buenas. Bien si es una buena o mala experiencia, podemos decir con certeza que el mañana no será como había-mos pensado. Nuestras vidas están influenciadas por muchos factores y el mundo es muy complejo. Más que estar sorprendido por lo inesperado, quizás debe-ríamos esperar lo inesperado. El vivir de esta manera nos hace disfrutar más de los dones que hemos recibido. Nos ayuda a vivir en el presente y ser conscientes de aquellos que nos ro-dean. Nuestras relaciones son más profundas; crece nuestro sentido de responsabilidad y nuestro servicio encuentra un nuevo significado y propósito. Este Adviento no será el mismo que el pasado. Nos queda ver lo que los próximos días nos traerán. Sin embargo, no importa lo que ocurra, Jesucristo está aquí para darnos la bienvenida a lo inesperado, pero también puedes contar con él para que esté contigo. Él es, ahora y siempre, Emmanuel, "Dios con nosotros". Él es la esperanza de todas las cosas que no se espe-ran.
