Key messages
Science must develop tailored research outputs thatrespond decision makers and policy formulators needs andpriorities recognizing diversity of stakeholders and their existingcapacities
In Latin America significant advances in terms oftechnology and knowledge gaps have been made, howeverwithin the region there are major inequalities. In some cases, gaps can be addressed through south-south collaboration butin others, international support will be needed.
Understanding specific contexts by identifying bothsynergies and differences is key, this will strengthen sciencethrough learning from local and traditional learning processesconsidering a territorial and/or landscape perspective.
