Please note the registration deadlines. Upon registration, your fees are committed to the trip and full refunds may not be issued after the end of the registration deadline. This depends on whether nonrefundable event tickets were purchased for the trip. In some instances, such as weather cancellations, a full refund may not be possible. Again, this depends on whether nonrefundable event tickets were purchased for the trip. Children have to be five years or older to ride on the bus. Use and/or possession of alcoholic beverages on the bus is prohibited (EWC Board Policy 5.13).

Our mission is to provide life-long learning opportunities for the residents of eastern Wyoming. We have tried to provide a variety of trips, personal enrichment classes, music classes, fitness/wellness classes, youth classes, computer classes and Ed2go classes. The LaGrange Community Education classes are also included in this schedule. Under Workforce Development you will find courses in Healthcare, Business & Professional Development and Safety Training.

“She Loves Me” Candlelight Dinner TheatreGeorg and Amalia are two feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930’s who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals—unaware their respective correspondents are each other. Sound familiar? The movie, “You’ve Got Mail” was loosely based upon this musical comedy. She Loves Me is considered to be the most charming musical ever written. An Evening with Charlie RussellPresenter: Oliver Sundby, EWC Director of Institutional DevelopmentSpend an evening getting to know America’s most famous western artist, Charles M. Russell as you learn about his life as a young artist and cowboy in Montana, as well as his career and artistic growth as he produced his classic paintings of cowboys, Native Americans, Montana and Canadian landscapes. Become familiar with his fortunate marriage to Nancy Russell, without whom he man have never made a dime. As Oliver narrates your voyage through seventy spectacular images and several Russell publications, he will share information with you about the Russell collections at the Charles M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana and other locations such as the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. sharing of timesPast & Travel PresentIrish Eyes a-Smilin’Presenter: Marilee ChildsJoin Marilee as she recounts her experiences as she traveled across the Emerald Isle. Walk along as she retraces her steps to the the Burren, Conemara peat bogs and Gallway on the western coast, up into the northwest through Gaeltacht area in Dogegal, out to the Aran Islands, up to Northern Ireland where she saw the dramatic difference between architecture and farming, then down the eastern coast where she visited the international tourist site at Newgrange, and finally Dublin. Marilee will share photos and traditional Irish music. She will point out similarities in Irish and Native American history and Mexican culture and have handouts for additional resources of information. Crochet Scarf & Hat—Function & FashionAKA Super Christmas GiftInstructor: Esther WarrenHave you noticed how popular crocheted scarves have become as a fashion accessory? Wow, so many shapes, colors, lengths, textures to consider: ruffle, twirley-Q, infinity, cowl, long and skinny, short and fluffy, ones that double duty as a shawl, even scarves with pockets and buttons. Well, then there are all the hats: beret, cloche, bowler-style, slouch, rasta, cap or visor, beanie. All you have to do for this class is decide the style of hat and scarf you like and Esther will help you create your very own fashion statement. This class is for all levels of crochet skill, even if you don’t know which end of a crochet hook to use. For the first class bring a size H hook and a worsted weight ball or skein of yarn. Well, you could continue to keep your favorite tu-tu hidden in the back of your closet, or . . . you could join JoEllen and make a Tulle Tu-Tu Holiday Tree to use as a party centerpiece, a special holiday gift, or a hypo-allergenic Christmas tree. Basics of Hair Braiding—The Ins, The Arounds, The Overs & The Unders Instructor: Lacy Gonzalez, Stylist at The Class ActBraids offer endless styles and patterns, which look wonderful on children, they last long and there is no need for using chemicals for a good hold. Join professional hair stylist Lacy Gonzalez to learn how to manage your daughter’s, granddaughter’s, niece’s, or even your own hair with simple French, Dutch, Lace and Fishtail braiding techniques. Combs, rubber bands, and spray water bottles will be provided; all you need to provide is a head with hair. You will have lots of time for practice. Chip-chip-here! Putt-putt-there!Instructor: Oliver SundbyA fall session by popular demand! Improve your short game and knock 5-7 shots off your golf score. In this two day tutorial students will practice chipping and putting round the green, learn which clubs to use and when, and gain a deeper knowledge and skill concerning etiquette and rule on the green, and will be introduced to putting grips and follow through techniques.Date: Tuesday-Wednesday, September 24 & 25Time: 5:00pm Cost: $25Location: Torrington Municipal Golf Course

Treep & Skat Shooting? NO—TRAP AND SKEET SHOOTINGInstructor: Ron Miller“So, what is the difference between trap shooting and skeet shooting?” I asked innocently. Although the explanation I was given made sense at the time, now I’m not so sure. Something about catapulting clay targets away from the shooter, “houses” on either side of the shooter, 5 or 7 stations . . . What I do know for sure is that the objective of both is to hit clay targets. Ron assured me that this class is for beginners like me and for those who already know what a catapult mechanism is and just want to hone their shooting skills. The first 2 classes will be Trap Shooting and the second 2 classes will be Skeet Shooting. You will need to provide your own shotgun and shells, targets will be provided. Ages 15 and older. No matter how large or small, everyone has an estate and something in common---you can’t take it with you? Find out what makes up your estate and why it is so very important that you plan for what will become of it when you are gone. Learn the decisions that are critical for you to make so your family won’t have to and the state won’t get to. Whether you are already retired or just starting out in your adult life, whether you have children or not . . .it is never too early, nor too late to plan. It is time now to get a deeper understanding of wills; trusts---living, revocable, irrevocable, special needs; powers of attorney---durable, medical; probate process; estate taxes; and the list goes on. Ed will guide you through the maze using a planning tool that will address all the areas needing your attention. Handgun ProficiencyInstructor: Brian WiseJoin Retired Torrington Police Officer Brian Wise in learning about firearms safety and developing proficiency with your handgun (sight picture, grip, live fire). This class is about developing firearms awareness on the firing range. Students will need to provide their own handgun and ammunition. The first class will meet at EWC in Tebbet 131. Basic Self-Defense for WomenInstructor: Beth Reed, EWC Campus Resource OfficerWOMEN, LADIES, GIRLS: take responsibility for preparing yourself in the event of a crime---the more prepared you are, the less likely you will need to defend yourself. MSHA 8-hour Annual Refresher:Thursday, November 21st 7:30 AM-4:30 PMMSHA requires 8-hours of refresher training annually to maintain compliance. This course will satisfy that requirement. A New Miner class can be scheduled as well if a large enough group is formed.

OSHA General Industry 10-hour:Torrington Class November 19th and 21st 7 AM-12:30 PM Douglas Class November 5th and 7th 7 AM-12:30 PM Come earn your 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Card. Upon completion of the course, students will take their Wyoming Department of Transportation (DOT) test to be issued their Class A commercial driver’s license. AGEC 2350 Agricultural Commodities in Marketing (2 CR):This course deals with the use of the commodities futures markets for risk management in the marketing of livestock and grain. The cash market will also be studied, including transportation, forward contracting types of markets, and price trends.

CMAP 1715 Word Processing: MS Word (2 CR):Introduce basic, intermediate, and advanced word processing features using the Microsoft Word word processing program. Applications to business, personal, and home-based business using word processing.

The Eastern Wyoming College Mobile Welding Lab can be delivered to your company and be ready for instruction in less than an hour. The Mobile Welding Lab is designed to increase the productivity and skills of workers in the welding and joining field. The seven-booth self-contained unit is outfitted with modern equipment that includes a welding fume extraction system, climate controlled environment and a teaching area to conduct demonstrations to enhance the learning experience. Welder Qualification Test Training: Training is available for welders wishing to qualify under specific welding codes and specifications. This training consists of supervised practice and documentation of proper techniques, enabling the welders to overcome faulty habits. Practice specimens are made and tested, and the welders are guided toward correcting any welding faults they may have. At the end of the training week a decision can be made to test or not test with additional charges for the testing.
