The Cedarburg Cultural Center has developed a program designed to gather and share information on Ozaukee County structures 100 years old or older. The Historic Architecture Registry committee invites anyone with a qualifying home or other building to fill out a brief questionnaire regarding the history of their property. Participants are also welcome to share photos, documents or any other pertinent information with Sue Gyarmati, Historic Programming Coordinator at the CCC.

Information will be compiled and entered into a database. It is hoped that these materials will aid researchers, genealogists, students and other interested persons to assemble a more complete representation of the architectural history of Ozaukee County.

The Cedarburg Cultural Center is also offering a personalized plaque to commemorate participation in this important program and recognize these significant structures. The weatherproof bronze plaque features the year the building was constructed and may be purchased for $125. Proceeds will be used to support historic programming and the ongoing care of historic collections at the Cultural Center.

Please visit CedarburgCulturalCenter.org/100zaukee

or call 262-375-3676 ext. 106 for a questionnaire.

Come on! A little elephant takes you to his favorite place--Cedarburg! Join him as he “rides around the block, to see who’s who, to see what’s what,” catches fireflies (“Twinkleflies on. Twinkleflies off. Stars in a jar is what we’ve got.”) and explores the creepy cemetery (“Oldy moldy graves up here. Oldy moldy bones down there. But no ghosts--nope!”) Rollicking rhymes, familiar scenes and a reassuring ending make this a story to keep--and share.

Sponsored by the Greater Cedarburg Foundation, all proceeds from book sales will go towards the new endowment of the Cedarburg Cultural Center.

THE VITROLUM REPUBLIC with opening act Wolfgang Schaefer

The Milwaukee-based Vitrolum Republic’s sound is a combination of styles that can best be described as classically-infused folk music. It’s a style all their own which they have come to call “Gypsy Noir.”

Their original compositions blur genres, combining classical elements with singer-songwriter, folk, bluegrass, blues and gypsy tango styling. Their music is diverse, and

draws upon the acoustic instrumentation that each member brings to the stage: violin, piano, acoustic guitar, accordion, mandolin, banjo upright bass, and a variety of percussion instruments.

The word “Vitrolum” is a word they created that represents a ‘conduit’ of expression. Through their performances these musicians and their audience become part of “The Republic,” and work to create the communal experience of “The Vitrolum Republic.” thevitrolumrepublic.com

Opening act and Cedarburg native Wolfgang Schaefer is the brother of The Vitrolum Republic percussionist Ben Schaefer. “This Milwaukee resident plays the lonely guitar and sings with the true tired voice of the open plain troubadour...” -Slowcoustic.com heywolfgang.com

Planned Giving

With a planned gift, you can create a legacy that will continue your tradition of support and allow future generations to enjoy and benefit from the Cedarburg Cultural Center as you have. Some planned gifts offer immediate tax deductions as well as income for life.

There are many simple ways to include the Cedarburg Cultural Center in your estate plans. A bequest, charitable annuity or a gift of retirement fund assets each offers its own set of financial benefits for you and for the Center.

GIFTS BY BEQUEST Bequests are a convenient and flexible way to support the Cedarburg Cultural Center. By naming the Center in your will or living trust, you can make a meaningful gift while maintaining control of your assets during life. Your gift to the Center may be either a specified amount of money or a percentage of your estate, or you may include the Center as a contingent beneficiary.

GIFTS THAT PROVIDE INCOME A charitable remainder trust allows you to claim a charitable deduction for a portion of your gift when it is made, plus you receive an annual income during your lifetime. If you prefer, you can have the income paid to a loved one. These gifts are ideal for Cultural Center patrons who have highly appreciated stock and would like to receive additional income or provide support for a friend or family member.

OTHER GIFT OPTIONS There are many other planned giving options that might work with your financial plans. For instance, you can designate the Cedarburg Cultural Center as the beneficiary of your retirement plan assets or a life insurance policy. Please contact us or your financial advisor to discuss a legacy gift to the Cultural Center that will match your personal financial plans and philanthropic goals.

THE CEDARBURG CULTURAL CENTER ENDOWMENT FUNDThe Cedarburg Cultural Center is proud to have launched an endowment fund in 2011 in support of the future operations of the Center. Housed at the Greater Cedarburg Foundation, the endowment affords our donors a secure vehicle by which to leave a legacy gift.
