Installation

To start the install process select the utility or dictionary you wish to download.

A link will open to show you that your add-on has been properly downloaded. Close out the dialog, then restart Celtx to complete the installation process.

Once you restart Celtx you can view the Toolbox to see that your add-on was successfully installed.

Note to Linux Users

To install add-ons on a Linux machine you first need to follow the instructions outlined here:http://wiki.celtx.com/index.php?title=Using_Studio_on_Linux

Then, select the download link to your add-on to install in Celtx.

Catalogs CSV Export Tool

The Catalogs CSV Export Tool enables the export of Catalogs data from the Project Library in comma-separated values (.csv) format.

Installation of the Catalogs CSV Export Tool displays a new button in Catalogs tabs.

Select to export that Catalog's data as a pre-formatted .csv file which can be opened using a spreadsheet application such as Excel, Google Docs, or Open Office.

Coloured Notes

Coloured Notes enables the coding of script notes with different colours.

Installation of the Coloured Notes add-on displays a new button in the Notes Sidebar. Selecting the button displays a pallete of note colour options.

Select a colour from the palatte to change the colour of new notes. To change an existing note colour first select the note then select the desired note colour.

Dialog Numbering

Dialog Numbering adds a numerical value to each dialog element in a film script.

After installing the Dialog Numbering add-on you will first need to enable the feature.

While in the screenplay editor select 'Script->Format Options...'

A Format Options dialog will open. Select 'Show Dialog Numbers'

Select 'OK' and return to your script. Lines of dialog will now be sequentionally numbered.

With 'Show Dialog Numbers' enabled, Typset/PDF will display a new Cast List page – located between the title page and first page of the screenplay. The Cast List displays the total number of lines of dialog spoken by each Character.

Dictionaries

Dictionaries localaize the Celtx spellcheck for different languages and dialects.

After installing the localized dictionary select 'Tools-->Check Spelling...'

Then, from the drop down menu at the bottom of the Check Spelling... dialog select the dictionary you wish to use as the spellcheck default.

Hide Breakdown Colours

Hide Breakdown Colours hides the colour coding of words in the script breakdown.

After installing the Hide Breakdown Colours add-on select the Breakdown Sidebar.

To show breakdown colours in the script, select the 'Show Breakdown In Script' checkbox.

To hide breakdown colours in the script, de-select the 'Show Breakdown In Script' checkbox.

Session Timer

Session Timer manages and tracks writing time, break time, and words written during a writing session.

Installation of the Session Timer add-on adds a button to the lower right corner of a script window.

Select the timer to view the pop-up menu.

– Starts the timer.– Displays the remaining time to the next break– Displays the summary writing time, break time and words written– Starts a session break– Resets the timer– View and change the settings

Select 'Settings...' from the Session Timer menu to open the settings dialog.

The Settings dialog lets you:• Automatically start the timer when the script opens• Set work and break times for a writing session.

◦ The default setting is 60 minutes of work followed by a 15 minute break. Based on the time you set, you will be prompted to take a break and to continue your writing.

◦ De-selecting 'Use scheduled breaks' means that the all session time will be considered writing time and you will not be prompted to take a break.

• Select type of alert when break starts/ends.◦ Show a dialog – a popup dialog appears when your break starts and ends.◦ Flash the timer – the session timer will flash serveral times when your break starts and ends.◦ Note: alerts will only appear if 'Use scheduled breaks' is selected.

There are three ways to start the Session Timer.

1. Hover your mouse pointer over the clock icon. The clock icon will change to a play button. Click on the play button to start the session timer.

2. Select Start Timer from the Session Menu3. Select 'Start the timer when the script opens' automatically starts the timer.

There are two ways to pause the Session Timer.

1. When the timer is active hover your mouse over the clock icon. The clock icon will change to a pause button. Click the pause button pause the session timer.

2. Select Pause Session from the Session Menu

iPhone/iPad Desktop Sync

Install this free plugin to sync your screenplays between Celtx Script on your iPhone/iPad and your desktop version of Celtx.

To use Celtx Sync with the Celtx desktop software please first ensure that:

1. You have downloaded and installed the latest version of the Celtx desktop software, available free at http://celtx.com

2. You then download and install the free Sync add-on for the Celtx desktop software, available at http://celtx.com/mobile.html#/mobile/nav-syncaddon

Celtx Sync preserves all script formatting and script markup during the sync process.

Importing Scripts Into Your Celtx Desktop Software

You can import scripts synced from Celtx Script on your iPhone/iPad directly into your Celtx desktop software.

Open a new 'Film' project template in your Celtx desktop software and select 'Script -> Import Script -> From iPhone/iPad...'

After signing in with your Celtx, Facebook or Google account you will see a dialog showing scripts synced from Celtx Script on your iPhone/iPad.

Select a script and select the 'Import' button to import the script directly into the Celtx desktop software.

Exporting Scripts From Your Celtx Desktop Software

You can export screenplays directly from your Celtx desktop software to Celtx Script on your iPhone/iPad.

To export a screenplay directly from your Celtx desktop software select 'Script -> Export Script -> To iPhone/iPad...'

After signing in with your Celtx or Google account you will see a dialog showing your previously synced scripts.

Title your screenplay and select the 'Export' button. This screenplay will be downloaded into Celtx Script on your iPhone and/or iPad the next time you perform a Celtx Sync.

Note: all script markup will be preserved whenever the script is edited in Celtx Script and imported back into your Celtx desktop software.
