O Lord, by your dealings with us, whether of joy or pain, of light or darkness, let us be brought to you. Let us value no treatment of your grace simply because it makes us happy or because it makes us sad, because it gives us or denies us what we want; but may all that you send us bring us to you; that knowing your perfectness, we may be sure in every disappointment you are still loving us, in every darkness you are still enlightening us, and in every enforced idleness you are giving us life, as in his death you gave life to your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. To call Jesus Christ the Son of God is to say that he is God of God, Light of Light begotten, not made. To see Jesus is to see God incarnate. To know the Son is to know the Father. God's nature is expressed in Jesus, the very Word of God. Through him were all things made. His life is the light of the world.

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” 13 Then the Pharisees said to him, “You are testifying on your own behalf; your testimony is not valid.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by human standards; I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is valid; for it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father who sent me. 17 In your law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid. 18 I testify on my own behalf, and the Father who sent me testifies on my behalf.” 19 Then they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. Local - Hamilton Out of the Cold - weekly hot meal from November to March in church hall Inner City Outreach (Wentworth & Barton) - CPC host bimonthly dinners for Moms Community BBQ - outside front of church, weekly from April to August Durand Market - sharing our space, supporting local small enterprises, and being neighborly, May to October White Gifts - Christmas gifts for children connected to Inner City Outreach Central Public School - reading program Indwell - specific needs for residents collected once a year FoodShare - sharing for food bank, basket by front doors, taken monthly Grocery Cards - available from church office for families in need in the neighborhood Summer Camp Offerings - for summer camps at Inner City Outreach National and International - around the world Operation Christmas Stable - funds raised go to families doing small scale farming through World Vision Presbyterians Sharing - CPC commits over $36,000 per year, for chaplaincies, Indigenous ministries and seminaries in Canada, and mission partners in Taiwan, Hungary, Malawi, Philippines Presbyterian World Service and Development - international aid to places of crisis, including Haiti and Malawi, as needs emerge Refugee Sponsorship - 3 families to Canada since 2010
