Level I Sites – Phenocam Sites matched to Ground Observations

Phenocam sites with ground observations in 100km radius.

Working with Phenocam group and USA-NPN to define high quality sites.

Goal of ~30 sites (North America).

Step 3: Package Data at Core Sites for Distribution to Phenology Community

Define 100km Grids Centered on Core Sites

Site Data Packages Include: The complete suite of available remote sensing phenology products. Phenocam images Ground Observations Instrument Data (eg. CO2 fluxes, PAR Sensors, spectrometer data)

Goal: to allow for multiple temporal and spatial resolution scaling opportunities

Step 4: Data Storage and Distribution

Data Packages will be stored and distributed by the ORNL-DAAC

Is it unnecessary redundancy to house phenocam and NPN data at ORNL? How do we insure Data Sharing protocols are met? Can this be solved by only including links to site data?

Phenology Land Product ValidationPhenology Scientific Community Involvement

The LPV Phenology subgroup encourages community collaboration:

The effort is dependent on data sharing across multiple communities.

We are seeking a global array of sites – Central and South America, Africa, Asia, Australia

Collaboration across groups is needed for proposal submissions to fund these efforts.

Please visit the website and contact us to become involved!
