About the programme

Graphic design is a very exciting career to enter into. You'll often be working with cutting edge technology, using your creativity,

and having fun doing it. If you pay attention to detail, are patient, creative, and like solving problems, then you are well on your

way. What is graphic design? It's a creative career that finally rewards you for all of those doodles you'd make during class…

The whole landscape for graphic designers is frequently changing -but this is a good thing. It brings forth innovative opportunities

and markets that will need graphic designers. You will be working with the art of visual communication that combines images,

words, and ideas to convey information to an audience. A graphic designer is responsible for arranging and using elements on

different types of media such as posters, product packages and websites.

Centurion Academy’s programmes are developed to improve critical thinking skills and as such, incorporate a variety of

instructional techniques that are used to assist in learning and to assess our students’ progress.

Who should attend this programme Anyone who wants to learn how to apply their own creativity and designing style to solve problems

Anyone who would like to be a team player in a firms marketing department

Anyone who has a desire to bring out their creative flare

Anyone who wishes to learn how to have an eye for art and design

Admission Requirements Basic computer literacy

Knowledge and understanding of English at Grd10 level

Grade 10 (May require an interview with the principal or a Portfolio of Evidence)

Grade 11 and Grade 12 will be admitted

Career Possibilities Junior Graphic & Web Designer in a Graphic Designer firm

Assistant Graphic & Web Designer in any other firm

Basic Graphic & Web Design work as a freelancer

Programme material The programme fee includes all textbooks and exams. Students may require extra materials for assignments.

Programme assessment The assessments will be done on an ongoing basis including tests, building of a Portfolio and a Final Examination.

Certification On successful completion of the programme, the learner will receive a Centurion Academy Certificate in Graphic Design

Articulation On completion of this course, it is recommended that students progress to their second year (Professional Certificate in Advanced

Graphic Design)
