There is lots on this term so please make sure you enter dates into your calendar so you don’t miss anything. Swim School Despite the weather not always being the best, swim school was a great experience for all involved. The teachers were impressed with the progress made by students over the 2 weeks. Please encourage your child to keep swimming regularly as we head into the warmer months. Summer Fun Fair Not long to go now! Our Summer Fun Fair will be held on Friday 9 November 2018, from 3-6pm. The students are very excited about all the activities the P & C has got planned and there will be a range of food and drinks available also. The fair will open with a performance from our Ukulele Troup and the drawing of the raffle. This fair will be a great opportunity to mix and mingle with others from the community so please invite your friends and neighbours to attend. The P & C still need volunteers to assist with the fair so please let Linda T know if you can assist in any way, or sign up using the link below. https://www.volunteersignup.org/YYE7Y We look forward to seeing you there! “Have a go day” Our Year 6 students who will be attending Whitebridge High School next year spent today at the high school. This day provides students with a taste of high school life. Students participate in a variety of subjects such as Science, Maths and PE whilst mixing with students from other local primary schools. 2D Wow, are we in Term 4 already! The year is flying by here in 2D! Congratulations must go to all our students who participated in the Swimming Program during Weeks 1 and 2. The students’ participated enthusiastically and demonstrated great sportsmanship by encouraging their peers. Student progress during these 2 weeks was outstanding and they should all be very proud of themselves. It would be fantastic if the students are able to continue swimming to get them ready for Summer! Please ensure the students’ are continuing their home reading. It is important that every child reads every single day. We have a couple of students in our class that make sure they read each and every night and bring in their home reading chart every Friday. If you need a new home reading chart or new books, please come and see Mrs Thomson or Mrs Drysdale. We are also focusing on using expression and our comprehension skills when we are reading. This term is shaping up to be a busy one. One more week till the Fete which is very exciting, what a lovely way to spend your Spring afternoon with the family. Hopefully we will see you all there! P&C News Please see our Week 3 Summer Fun Fair note going home with students today. You can still purchase all day ride wristbands for the discounted price of $20 (CASH ONLY) up until the day before the fete – notes available on the web site or from the office.
