Job Description:
Panther Creek Country Club, celebrating its “Silver Anniversary” in Springfield, seeks a creative, goal
oriented Sous Chef with a strong work ethic, passion for hospitality, great food, and all things culinary.
Must be available for face to face interview along with at least one demonstration of meal
preparation skills.
The Club operates Tuesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner with Monday being closed. We offer
medical, dental, 401k and other benefits. In addition, we are closed Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day,
and two weeks during the first half of January.

Requirements:
Must have minimum 3 years background as a Sous Chef in a Country Club, Hotel or upscale dining facility
including banquet experience
Culinary Degree or additional equivalent experience
Proficient on all stations. Fry, Broil, Sauté, Grill and Pantry; baking and pastry is a plus.
Possesses characteristics that command a presence in the kitchen;
Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
Must maintain proven leadership skills to include effective interaction with members and staff; a team
member and a leader who knows how to motivate and lead by example
Ability to coordinate and motivate a team
Hands-on leadership position requiring working where required in any and all stations
Experience with purchasing and inventory systems
Creative menu development skills and be able to demonstrate culinary techniques, i.e., cutting principle,
plate presentations, safety and sanitation practices.
Must possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft word and excel
Ability to maintain poise under pressure
Banquet experience up to 250
Ability to expedite tickets on both sides of the kitchen line
Creative freedom is encouraged therefore a self-starter is a must
Well-versed in various cuisines and cooking techniques
Knowledge of and ability to maintain state and federal health code requirements
Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
