Handschuhe für Rollstuhlfahrer sind ein wichtiger SchutzartikelUnsere Hände sind anatomisch nicht für die Belastung eines Rollstuhlfahrers geschaffen. Das Abwinkeln der Hände knickt Nerven und Sehnen ab und der permanente Druck und die Belastung auf die Handballen stauchen wichtige Nerven wie den Ulnarnerv oder den Mediannerv im Carpaltunnel. Bei vielen Rollstuhlfahrern führt diese Belastung schließlich zu Taubheitsgefühlen und Schmerzen in den Händen. Die Hände müssen deshalb besonders geschützt werden.

Zur Anatomie der HandDie Hand wird von 2 zentralen Nervenbahnen durchzogen, den Ulnarnerv und Carpalnerv, wenn umgangssprachlich vom Carpaltunnelsyndrom gesprochen wird, werden meist mehrere Probleme in einen Topf geworfen.Der Ulnarnerv führt, wie man in der Zeichnung gut sehen kann, am Außenballen der Hand zum kleinen- und Ringfinger. Er reagiert nicht so empfindlich auf das Abwinkeln der Hand, dafür aber negativ auf Druck im Ballenbereich.Der Carpaltunnel hingegen reagiert schon durch seine Lage nicht so leicht auf Druck, ist aber sehr empfindlich bezüglich dem Abwinkeln der Hand.Vibrationen und Erschütterungen, beim Greifen, Bremsen oder Beschleunigen sind ein zusätzlicher Reiz, der beide Nervenbahnen irritiert.

Zusammengefasst kann man also sagen:Schmerzen und Taubheitsgefühle in den Händen entstehen zu 90% aus folgen-den Gründen:1. Druck auf den Ulnarnerv der den kleinen- und Ringfinger versorgt.2. Druck auf den Carpaltunnel (versorgt die restlichen Finger)3. Unnatürliche abgeknickte Haltung der Hand im Handgelenk.4. Erschütterungen, die Sehnen und Nerven irritieren.

The anatomy of the handThe hand has two central nerve tracts – the ulnarnerve and the carpal nerve. When the colloquial expression carpal tunnel syndrome is used, several prob-lems are often mixed up. As you can see on the illustration, the ulnar nerve runs along the palm of the hand to the small finger and the ring finger. It does not react very sensitively to the hand being bent. However, it strongly reacts to pressure on the thenar area.Due to its position the carpal tunnel does not easily react on pressure; however, it is very sensitive when angling the hand.Vibrations and shaking when gripping, slowing down or accelerating are an ad-ditional impulse irritating both nerve tracts.

In summary this means:Any pain and numbness of the hand is with 90% certainty the result of one of the following:1. Pressure on the ulnar nerve which supplies the small finger and the index finger.2. Pressure on the carpal tunnel (which supplies the other fingers) 3. Unnaturally bent position of the hand from the wrist.4. Shock and vibration which irritate the ligaments and nerves.

4. Schutz vor Nässe und Kälte im WinterDas Außenmaterial sollte innen beschichtet sein. Diese Beschichtung verhindert das Eindrin-gen von Schmutz und Nässe und das Vollsaugen des Handschuhs.
