Part 1– Preparing the images• How to prepare the images

• The first thing you will need to do is locate the images as they are, and import them into Photoshop. This can be done by going to File>Open this is found here.

• Now open the two files you want to merge together into Photoshop.

• These are called “ Alien “ and “ Peace “

Both Images On Screen • You will now see the Following.

• You will be ready to edit both the images.

Editing The Images

• First you will need to edit the Alien image so that the background has been completely removed.

• Select the Alien image so that is it visible on top of the other image. This is done by simply clicking on the image you want to work with.

Next select the magic wand tool.

Cutting Out the Blank Area

• Next you need to cut out the white area from around the image.

• . Select any of the white areas around the image like this.

• Left clicking on the white area will select all of the following area.

• If nothing is Deleted then the Layer is locked. Double Click on the layer name then select ok to unlock the layer.

Editing The Images

• Next You can press the Delete key to delete all of the white area that the magic wand tool has selected for you.

• Your image will now look like this:

• Now Select the area between the aliens legs and tail with the magic wand tool. Pressing Delete each time to delete the area.

• You will finally end up with a fully editable alien image like this.

• Next we can get ready to put this image into your background canvas that we created earlier

Merging The Images• Select the Move tool located here.

• Now Drag the Alien image over to the background image by clicking and holding and simply dragging it over to the other image, you will be left with the following.

Adding Effects • Now you have the images together so you can edit them and work on

creating a more life like scene. Try shading and merging the images together to integrate the alien into the background.
