Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria Symptoms

About chronic idiopathic urticaria: chronic idiopathic

urticaria or CIU is a very common skin condition. The name

urticaria is derived from the Latin word urtica which means

nettle.

Urticaria is also known as hives, hives is by far the most

common term for the condition. Urticaria or hives is

classified as chronic as opposed to acute if the condition

persists for more than six weeks, many specialists also

consider the condition to be chronic if hives or urticaria is prevalent for most days of the

week.

Many people will at some time in their life suffer with an outbreak of hives however most of

these cases can normally be attributed to a simple allergic reaction I.e. by food

intolerance, cosmetic etc.

Chronic idiopathic urticaria is more of a serious condition. Idiopathic is a medical term

used to describe a condition which has no apparent or obvious reason, chronic idiopathic

urticaria can be a real issue for most of the people that suffer with a condition as they will

probably never know what causes your urticaria which makes a condition very hard to treat

or avoid.

Chronic idiopathic urticaria is thought to affect around 3% of the worlds population, well the

condition in most cases seems only superficial I.e. urticarial rash, hives, urticarial wheals

the truth is chronic idiopathic urticaria can affect a sufferers personal, social and work life,

in summary chronic idiopathic urticaria can for some people be as debilitating and

Page 5: Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria

problematic as suffering with diabetes or a coronary condition.

Related conditions:

People who suffer with chronic idiopathic urticaria otherwise known as hives may also

suffer with a condition called angioedema.

Angioedema is a separate condition although very similar, the difference between

angioedema and urticaria is the level of the skin or dermis in which the swelling occurs,

angioedema occurs in the lower layer of the dermis skin as opposed to urticaria.

Angioedema will cause larger swelling which in some cases can be serious and

frightening. Angioedema usually only affects the head area, although most cases of

angioedema tend not to be cause for panic severe cases can cause swelling of the time

and throat which is a type of anaphylactic response and can prove fatal without immediate

medical assistance.

Angioedema as mentioned above will often manifests along with a chronic urticaria

outbreak, symptoms of the two conditions developing in tandem can and will often

completely debilitate the sufferer for a number of days.

My personal experience with chronic idiopathic urticaria and angioedema:

From personal experience the two conditions and suffered together will cause exceptional

swelling the face and head to the extent that it's hard to recognise yourself when looking at

yourself in the mirror, this along with huge urticarial wheals which cover your whole body,

in my case the said wheals grow bigger and bigger eventually meeting and joining with

adjacent wheals until all of the wheals joined, at this point the condition usually starts to

subside and is usually over within another day.

Throughout this short report we will talk more about chronic idiopathic urticaria, the

reasons for the condition and perhaps more importantly simple ways in which we can treat

idiopathic urticaria at home and without medication.

Page 6: Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria

The reasons that most people suffer with chronic idiopathic urticaria often differ from what

people think, this can often include doctors and specialists, even dermatologists.

Unfortunately for most sufferers of the condition CIU is often labelled along with other

allergies, this trivialises the condition. CIU it's not the same as common allergy, although

some of the symptoms may seem the same such as hives, urticaria wheels and skin

rashes the reasons often lie much deeper.

Cause of chronic idiopathic urticaria:

Chronic idiopathic urticaria is often something that develops through adolescence and

continues to worsen as we get older, this is often thought to be because idiopathic urticaria

is a result of an autoimmune condition much like rheumatoid arthritis or type I diabetes.

Many people suffering with chronic idiopathic urticaria will often find that their condition is

also a hereditary which basically means that a gene has been passed down to them

through a family line. The fact that the condition is often termed as hereditary as well as an

autoimmune condition confuses many people, this is because chronic idiopathic urticaria

may not be president in the family, you could be the only one suffering with a condition,

however urticaria can still be hereditary.

Let me explain, the hereditary gene leaves you predisposed to developing the condition,

this doesn't mean that you will get urticaria it just means you have more chance.

The gene we are discussing here is not and urticaria gene, it's actually a gene which

leaves you predisposed to developing an autoimmune condition, so while nobody else in

your family may suffer with urticaria it's often common to find other family members

suffering with other autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, lupus,

scleroderma, even leaky gut syndrome to name but a few, these are all autoimmune

conditions.

How to cure chronic idiopathic urticaria:

To treat chronic idiopathic urticaria you need to treat the underlying condition which we've

Page 7: Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria

established as an autoimmune disease, while many doctors and indeed dermatologists

may disagree with this theory the facts speak for themselves. Trying to treat chronic

idiopathic urticaria with conventional medication really doesn't work, in truth traditional

urticaria medication will often make the condition much worse in time, this is true in many

cases and is usually attributed to a toxic build up which adheres to the gastrointestinal

wall.

The gastrointestinal wall acts as a barrier. With the build up of toxins in the gut problems

were often arise and can lead to leaky gut syndrome, symptoms of which can often

manifests as skin rashes I.e. urticaria, so even if you're urticaria was considered acute and

over a period of time you used traditional urticaria medication to combat the symptoms the

chances are that over time the same symptomatic urticaria treatments will often turn an

acute case of urticaria into a chronic condition.

Although all this may come as a bit of a shock for some people it's actually better to

understand the reason for your recurring hives, with a general understanding of chronic

idiopathic urticaria it becomes far easier to treat the condition. Throughout the next section

of the book we will talk about some little-known but effective chronic idiopathic urticaria

treatments, plus you be glad to hear that most of them although little strange involves little

in the way of cost and can be easy to follow and effective for some.

The treatment of chronic urticaria or hives hives depends on the seriousness of the

symptoms. The most commonly used treatments for chronic idiopathic urticaria are Non-

sedating antihistamines, which might include Allegra, Claritin, Clarinex, and Zyrtec, these

are just some of the drugs you me be prescribed, for many people as a condition

progresses and their doctor starts to run of good ideas, steroids are often prescribed,

usually as of course of oral meds, failing this cortisone injections may be utilised, even

immune suppressants are becoming more and more common in an effort to cure chronic

idiopathic urticaria.

However as we discussed earlier most of these drugs will not help with your condition in

the long-term although at the time they may help reduce symptoms. This report is not

about traditional, conventional or prescribed urticaria treatment, these types of

symptomatic urticaria treatments are all too readily available from your doctor or chemist.

Page 8: Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria

The next section of this book will cover a list of easy to follow and effective natural urticaria

treatments which are effective in treating symptoms of the condition.

Chronic idiopathic urticaria treatments:

1. Calamine lotion-applying to the effected area can offer some short term relief

from the constant itching.

2. Milk of magnesia applied to the urticarial wheals often provides some relief

especially from the consistent itching.

3. Cornstarch: using the right formulation will help stop the itching of hives. Get 1/2

a container filled with warm water, add 1/2 cup cornstarch and 1/2 cup baking soda.

Soaking the effected areas at least once a day can make a lot of difference.

4. Applying aloe Vera gel or vitamin E oil to the affected area at least twice a day

may offer some relief.

5. Avoid stimulants such as caffinated drinks like tea and coffee, instead supplement

your normal consumption of these drinks with green or nettle tea which contain

natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

6. Cayenne pepper will often speed up the healing process as it is known to reduce

swelling. Cayenne pepper preferably natural or the capsule variety are the best to

use.

7. To relieve pain and swelling, apply a cool gel pack or ice pack to the affected

area, even cold showers can help.

8. Vitamin D, This is the vitamin the body absorbs from natural sunlight and to a

lesser degree from eating oily fish. Sunlight is often great for urticaria sufferers (not

solar or heat related hives). The problem is we're not all blessed with good whether,

and of course some urticaria sufferers are actually much worse in the sun (heat,

Solar hives, etc.)

Page 9: Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria-How to Cure Idiopathic Urticaria

9. Avoid anything containing 'Trans fatty acids' or 'Hydrogenated fat'. You'll often

find Hydrogenated fat in ready meals (cheap pre-packed), processed foods and

take-aways.

10. Make a paste with 2 cups of oatmeal and 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. Add a

little liquid to make it into a paste. Apply to affected area for 15-30 minutes. It dries

the hives up within a couple of hours.

11. Excessive amounts of vitamin C, is well known to aid many skin conditions

which includes urticaria, try the powdered variety.

12. Peanut oil rubbed into the legions is thought to help many sufferers

These are all natural ways of dealing with the symptoms of urticaria, but by far the best

way of dealing with any chronic condition is to address the problem at its roots so you

never have to put up with further attacks.
