Health Insurance
Non-local students are required to have suitable and adequate insurance throughout the entire
period of their studies at City University of Hong Kong. The insurance should cover travel, personal
accidents, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalization and emergency
evacuation/repatriation.
Students who do not purchase travel and health insurance before coming to Hong Kong, or who
wish to have additional coverage, may enrol in the Group Personal Accident and Medical Benefits Insurance Plan for Non-local Students contracted by CityU.
This plan provides only basic, minimal coverage and does not include medical and health insurance.
For all-round protection, a policy should be purchased from a private insurer.

Visa Requirements
Anyone who wants to study at City University of Hong Kong, and does not have the right of abode or the right to land in Hong Kong, must obtain a student visa or entry permit from the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
