University System of Georgia Minimum Requirements

Freshman Index (“FI”) is a combination of a student’s SAT or ACT scores and high school grade point average.

FI = 500 x (HSGPA) + SAT Critical Reading + Math (or)

FI = 500 x (HSGPA) + (ACT Composite x 42) + 88

Minimum FI for admission to:Research university is 2500 UGA, GT, GRU, GSU

Regional university is 2040 Kennesaw, GA Southern, U of West GA, Valdosta State

State university is 1940 Albany State, Armstrong State, Fort Valley, Savannah State,

UNG, etc.

State or two-year college is 1830

ABAC, GA Gwinnett College, Gordon State, etc.

Example: 2.3 x 880 SAT = 2024

Minimum for 4 year colleges in GA

SAT Critical Reading: 430

SAT Math: 400 ACT English: 17 ACT Math: 17

* Students without these minimum scores but with SAT scores of at least 330 CR and 310 Math may be considered for admission to a two-year college, but will be required to exempt or exit Learning Support in the areas of deficiency.

* Institutions may set higher requirements for admission. Students meeting the minimum FI requirements are not guaranteed admission.

UGA Deadlines

Early Action (non-binding) application is due October 15 and students will receive an admission decision by December 15.

Regular Decision application is due January 15 and students will receive a decision by April 15.

Apply now! You must submit your application on-line before the counselor and teacher can submit evaluation forms. Official transcript and SAT or ACT scores are also required.
