Define the Cloud

The cloud – or cloud computing – is an approach to computing that’s about Internet scale and connecting a variety of devices and endpoints (servers, PCs, mobile devices) so that they can work together. For consumers, the cloud provides access to “your stuff” when you want from any device. For business, the cloud provides IT delivered as a standardized service.

Microsoft Technical Cloud Computing Definition Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (for example, networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be provisioned rapidly and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction
