“Dear AIESECers,

our history started 55 years ago, and since 1954 a huge number of people, like us, passed one after the other from our organization, they lived year by year with the same dreams and ideas we are living today.

Six months of our term are almost gone, six months of this wonderful experience; but this CN1 wouldn’t be the moment to consider the few time we still have, it is the moment to understand how to use the time better and make this experience simpler, because AIESEC is simple!

The last six months we were looking at our experience, living it, and most of the time following it in the same way we follow the rain dropping from the sky. But now it is the time for Drawing on Drops, to make those simple drops something special with their own shape and sense of life!

When we draw on the drop from the ocean help, it is an ocean in itself, and a little seed, through the outpouring of the rain, the favor of the sun and soul-refreshing breeze, will become a tree with the utmost freshness, full of leaves, blossoms and fruits.

In order to erase our fears, we can draw closer to people, we can draw closer to the earth, we can draw closer to all the heavenly creatures that surround us.

Now it is the time to draw our future using all the drops collected until now either they are few and little, or more and bigger we have them ready, in order to become life changing experience for hundreds of people around us.

This CN1 is the moment in which we select the new MC for the term 1011, this CN1 is the moment for us to show that we are able to collect all our feelings and transform them into the engine of our beloved AIESEC Italy. AIESEC is its people; people connected to each other, friends. This is what will remain in our Earths after this memorable experience if we start to draw it from zero together again!

What is Important?

CN1 is the time that the Plenary of AIESEC in Italy is choosing the new President of AIESEC in Italy and the time for the new President to form his new team.

What is the process? 6th Dec: Deadline of Applications (with endorsements, videos, CAT print-screens, etc) 8th Dec: Applicants are informed about specific information may be needed for their Process During ONE: Applicants are assessed by an external Partner with Personal interview, written test, Roll Plays MCVP applicants get the Vote of Confidence* from plenary Plenary votes for the new MCP MCP chooses and announces the MC Team.

*Vote of Confidence We do not choose from “I don’t know” and then we choose “Yes” or “Not” but we start from “YES, I will give the opportunity to everyone”. So the new MCP who you vote and trust will choose his/her perfect team. ONLY if someone is completely and 100% out of how an AIESECer should be I do not give the Confidence Vote. It is not a vote of choice, choice will be made from the MCPe according to the skills and characteristics he/she wants to have in the team.

Attitude towards process This process of selection of the new MC is important since all applicants are people that they want voluntarily to devote themselves for the well-being for this organisation for one year. They have talked with their families, postponed their working or University life for one year and have created dreams and hopes for the new positions they are applying for. What we should create is an environment relevant to what AIESEC is. We have to support our delegates and encourage them for this demanding process in order to make sure that AIESEC in Italy will grow more the years to come.

Congress Venue : Name: Aloha D'oro Location: Via Alcide De Gasperi 10, Acireale (CT)

Position: The Aloha D'Oro is located in Acireale, the province's most populous town

after Catania. It is 18 Km from Catania, 25 Km from Mount Etna, 37 Km from Taormina and 208 Km from Palermo. Located on the seafront of the Etna volcano, bordering “La Timpa” nature reserve, close to the Baroque center of Acireale and its thermal baths, the Aloha d'Oro is found in one of the prettiest spots in Sicily. Nestled in a citrus garden that connects it to the sea, it is a structure in which nature and culture of the area combine to give unique

emotions and moments of great prosperity.

Structure: The hotel has 113 rooms, each of which is equipped with telephone, TV, hairdryer, mini fridge, air conditioning and heating.

We will have a total of four rooms of 350 square meters for the plenary and the others of 82, 40 and 26 sqm. In all conference rooms the following is available: a flipchart, a projection screen, a television, a sound system and microphones. Travel: Acireale has a railway station easily accessible from anywhere, in fact all national trains have a stop at this station. The city is also connected by bus to Catania with daily departures, with the AST line every 30 minutes and with the line Etna Transport every hour.

How to reach there : By Plane: Fontanarossa airport in Catania. Orbital road of Catania. Highway A18 Messina / Catania Messina direction, exit at Acireale.

By Train: Linea Messina / Catania, Acireale station.

By Car: Highway A18 Messina / Catania to Catania, exit at Acireale. Proceed along Via Cristoforo Colombo. At the stop sign turn right on SS114, continue towards Catania.

By Fast ferry: From Genoa, Livorno, Ravenna, Civitavecchia, Naples and Salerno with a stop in Messina, Catania and Palermo.

By bus: Sais Trasporti - Rome, Milan and the main European capitals.

Congress Preparation needed: Please pay attention to some specific preparation needed: 1) Each LC should have at least 6 delegates 2) Read several docs (Legislation Booklet, MC Plan &Budget, MC Report 08/09); all documents you may find in MyAIESEC.net 4) Read a document how to make your conference a paradise (http://www.myaiesec.net/content/viewfile.do?contentid=10094404)

5) Please notice that during all the length of the CN1 agenda we will have among us soveral special external guests, representing National or Local Partners. They will be present in O.N.E. but also along the Congress Agenda and will run some sessions for you. For this reason the FACI team and the OC team would like to invite all the delegates to behave in a sober and “professional” way, showing the enthusiasm of our network but, more, the responsibility we have. 7) Bring at least 1 laptop for your delegation 9) Take care of the theme of the party’s (will be communicated later on) and bring the needed material with you, to be the best character in every party plenary! The parties will end at 3 o’clock each night and after that time no more alcoholics will be distributed.
