Coffs Harbour’s CoastOut Festival is in its third year and, in 2012, it shows no signs of slowing down. Awarded the Coffs Coast ‘Community Event Of The Year ‘ at this year’s Australia Day Awards, CoastOut has secured its place on the festival calendar and has quickly become a point of destination for those looking for a fun, action-packed weekend escape.

In previous years, CoastOut has played host to guests from all around the nation and overseas. Presenting an eclectic mix of sport, social, art and community events, CoastOut celebrates the diversity of our community as it welcomes all to its gay, lesbian and gay-friendly festival, set in the naturally beautiful surrounds of Coffs Harbour, NSW.

This year, CoastOut presents all of your festival favourites, with a new and exciting mix of live entertainment and added activities to ensure that you have a weekend

to remember. With 10 events staged over three days and nights, festival-goers are invited to choose their own adventure or grab a Three-Day Festival Pass and enjoy access to the entire weekend of fun.

The only gay and lesbian-friendly Surf Comp in the country returns with its first day of competition. Male and female surfers compete in open and long board divisions for cash and prizes. CoastOut’s UnReal Surf Comp is a fun day for both spectators and competitors alike. Surf Comp organisers will select the best available conditions and notify competitors on the morning of the exact location of the event, chosen from one of the many beautiful Coffs Harbour beaches. The first heats of four divisions begin Friday and will be assessed by an accredited panel of judges from Surfing NSW. Spectators are invited to grab their beach towel and their friends and join us for a morning of sun, sand, waves and hot surfing bods.

A tribute to Australia’s own Princess Of Pop, Kylie Minogue.
