Call to Worship Leader: Where are you going, lost and lonely ones? People: We are traveling with Christ through the darkest valley. Leader: Where are you going, blind and in darkness? People: We have the light of Christ, and are now children of light. Leader: Where are you going, sinners, unclean? People: We have been forgiven, renewed and restored. Leader: In Christ all are a new creation! We share this new life with the world! All: Come, let us sing the songs of the redeemed, for all are worthy, all are welcome! *Hymn - “Great is the Lord” STF #2022 *Prayer of Confession (unison) All: God- Healer of our lives: it is easy for us to lose sight of your kingdom, and your way for us. We hope that love conquers hate, that light shines in our shadows, that life is stronger than death--yet our lips are filled with bitter words, our lives are weak and shallow, the shadowed corners of the world beckon to us.

Have mercy on us and lead us to the still waters of your grace and the healing garden of your heart, Tender Shepherd. Restore our sight to see you living with us, restore our hope that we might trust you, restore our speech that we might praise you for your great gift to us in Jesus Christ,.our Lord and Savior.

Silent prayers may be offered *Words of Assurance

Leader: With a gentle touch, with the anointing of the Holy Spirit,

with the joy of love, God reaches out to forgive us and

make us whole.

Page 5: Collingswood Presbyterian Church · 2012-11-08 · Collingswood Presbyterian Church August 18, 2013 30 Fern Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey 08108 Telephone: 856-854-4523 ♦ Fax:

People: Touch us, eternal Spirit; heal us, Light of Love; fill our

lives with new meaning, God of joy,

*Response - “O How He Loves You and Me” STF #2108

O how he loves you and me! O how he loves you and me!

He gave his life. What more could he give?

O how he loves you; O how he loves me;

O how he loves you and me!

Jesus to Calv’ry did go; his love for sinners to show.

What he did there brought hope from despair.

O how he loves you; O how he loves me;

O how he loves you and me!

*Sharing of the Peace

Leader: The peace of Christ be with you.

People: And also with you.

Deacons School Supply Collection

Each August your Deacon Board collects back packs filled with school supplies.

These supplies help children from financially struggling families start off their

school year with the supplies they need for a successful academic year.

This year, no back packs are needed. Just buy some supplies and bring them to

church and add them to the collection table. The Deacons will fill the back

packs that we have making sure each back pack has everything the student will

need.

Below is a list of supplies needed. If everyone can bring a little, together we can

help a lot. Please help.

Thank you,

Your Deacons

541 water systems. 25 nations.

1500 volunteers trained.

20 years of service.

These are the facts associated with Living Waters for the World. However, numbers are merely symbols for a human story – the Christian story – lived out day after day, relationship by relationship, and drink of life-giving water by drink. The installation of a clean water system in a community resulting from the partnership between initiating and operating partners has been accomplished by a team from West Jersey Presbytery early this summer in a church in Cuba. It's just the beginning! Clean water will flow for years to come in order to permanently and positively change the lives of those served – particularly the children.
