Thank you for considering Metropolitan State University of Denver as you plan to further your education. This Transfer Booklet is designed for students attending public Colorado community colleges and will provide you with transfer guides which outline the courses that transfer into specific bachelor’s degrees at MSU Denver.
This booklet is only printed once annually and is subject to change. Electronic versions of these transfer guides are updated regularly and can be found at msudenver.edu/transferguides.
START HERE….1. Find Your Major.
This booklet divides our transfer guides into three sections: 1) Statewide Guaranteed Transfer Guides 2) MSU Denver Specific Transfer Guides 3) MSU Denver Advising Guides (guides that do not lead to an associate’s degree). Find which category your major is listed under by visiting the Table of Contents on page 1.
2.Read the Introduction Page of Your Section. To help you navigate your guide successfully make sure to read the helpful information included on the introduction page to the section in which your guide is located.
3. Explore the Other Resources in the Transfer Booklet. This booklet is meant to serve as a one-stop-shop resource as you plan your next educational steps.
• A comprehensive list of all programs offered at MSU Denver
• gtPathways guaranteed transfer course list: page 2
• Information regarding Credit for Prior Learning and Individualized Degrees: page 11
4. Review your new transfer plan with an advisor. It is important to keep in touch with both your community college academic advisor and a transfer counselor in the MSU Denver Transfer Services Office. See next page for your counselor’s contact information.

III. MSU Denver Individualized Degree Program
The Individualized Degree Program (IDP) offers students the opportunity to propose a major or minor specifically designed to meet their educational goals when those goals cannot be met by formal curricula described in the University catalog. Students interested in this option are invited to contact the Center for Individualized Learning at 303-556-8342 or visit msudenver.edu/idp.
IV. Credit for Prior Learning
What is Prior Learning? Prior learning is the term educators use to describe learning that a person acquires outside of a traditional academic environment. Students may have acquired learning through work experience, employer training programs, military training, independent study, non-credit courses and volunteer and community service.
The Center for Individualized Learning organizes the process in which students’ prior learning can be assessed for possible college credit. To learn more about this assessment process and opportunities you may have to earn credit for prior learning, please contact Danielle Forrest, Prior Learning Specialist at 303-556-8342 or visit msudenver.edu/cpl.

GLOBAL DIVERSITY AND MULTICULTURAL REQUIREMENTS:
MSU Denver has two additional requirements that are not required by Colorado community colleges. Please see below for further instruction.
MSU Denver Global Diversity Requirement (minimum 3 semester hours):Global Diversity courses are designed to help students exhibit knowledge of one or more regions or countries outside the U.S. and describe the implications of global interdependence.
Please Note: it is the expectation of many of the MSU Denver Transfer Guides that students choose a course that will fulfill Global Diversity as well as one other general studies category to prevent the student from taking too many credits. Use this index to identify courses that will fit this category as well as another general studies area.++courses denoted with two plus signs (++) in our General Studies Index also count for the global diversity requirement
MSU Denver Multicultural Graduation Requirement (minimum 3 semester hours):Multicultural courses are designed to increase students’ awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity in the United States.
Please Note: it is the expectation of many of the MSU Denver Transfer Guides that students choose a course that will fulfill Global Diversity as well as one other general studies category to prevent the student from taking too many credits. Use this index to identify courses that will fit this category as well as another general studies area.**courses denoted with two asterisks (**) in our General Studies Index also count for the global diversity requirement
