Involved Partners and Laboratories
The ERIGrid project aims to provide to scientists and companies involved in the development of smart grid concepts and solutions with access to concentrated know-how and European research infrastructures
Motivation and Main Goals
• Support the technology development as well as the roll-out of smart grid approaches, solutions and concepts in Europe with a holistic, cyber-physical systems approach
• Integration of major European research centres with outstanding smart grid research infrastructure to jointly develop common methods, concepts, and procedures
• Integrate and enhance the necessary research services for analysing, validating and testing smart grid configuration
• Provide system level support and education for industrial and academic researchers in smart grid research and technology development

Expected Results and Outcomes
• Extensive overview of various European research possibilities based on the services of ERIGrid partners
• Optimisation of laboratories interconnection
• Minimisation of testing services duplication in Europe
• Addressing the gaps in system integration and validation
• Harmonised procedures, common modelling approaches and standardised representation of results from simulation and laboratory-based experiments
• Dissemination of the gained data to external users and stakeholder groups
• Open access of the user projects’ results to the public
• More efficient usage of smart grid research infrastructures in Europe
