Botanical Sketchbook & Painting

We will cover various aspects of botanical drawing and painting, learning about materials, basic plant anatomy, and techniques for drawing and painting with graphite and watercolor. Subjects include flowers, fruit and vegetables. You will get a creative workout, but in a relaxed, supportive setting, where experimentation and play are encouraged while techniques and observation are emphasized.

The Artist’s Way Workshop

This Artist's Way workshop explores ways to tap into our creativity as well as ways to nurture ourselves. The tools of the program are practical, inspiring and approachable. Even if you don't see yourself as an artist, the workshop will help you get in touch with your creativity, your passions, your dreams for your life and maybe even finding a new career. The 12 week workshop follows the 12 chapters of Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist’s Way.

Birds! Sketching, Drawing and Painting Birds

Learn about birds and how to draw them with convincing form and color. We will work from reference photos and field trips. We will learn the basics of bird anatomy, proportions and features. We will construct simple 3-D models to better understand foreshortening and to examine how light on the bird. We will learn to sketch quick thumbnails to help us capture the essence of birds so that we can draw them from life. We will also look at how to draw and paint detailed, realistic birds. All Levels of Skill Welcome.

Her work looks incredibly detailed and difficult but her step by step, mixed media approach allows for an easy to follow quick build up of color and value while still leaving room for the beautiful detail and control of colored pencil. Eileen walks us through it in manageable and fun steps. You will learn watercolor and colored pencil application tips, and how to extract the best qualities of each medium in this fun and informative workshop.

Custom Classes for Groups

Liz will work with you to design a class to fit your group's interests and age levels. Classes can range from 1-2 hours. Class choices:

ARTFUL POETS CUSTOM CLASS FOR GROUPSThe Artful Poets class inspires young writers with a range of fun poetry activities and exposure to many forms of poetry. In addition, an art component will coincide with our poetry to enhance the learning experience.

ZENARTS CUSTOM CLASS FOR GROUPS ZenArts is a class is that celebrates, nurtures, and inspires students to express themselves in a number of modalities. Students will have opportunities to practice mindful activities such as movement, meditation, and listening to music to enhance their creative experience. Art activities will complement this approach toward mindfulness. Classes may incorporate basic yoga stretches, breathing exercises, mindful games, and brief guided meditations. Art activities may include collage, watercolor, sketching, and sculpture.

Through the years they have organized travel programs for individuals and groups of friends, U.S. universities, international companies, artists, writers and bon vivants.

After years of working together, Charlene joined World Tours Studio, becoming their U.S. partner. Together they create tours and travel adventures, big and small, all over the world.
