INTRODUCTION

A Tata consultancy service is a software services consulting company formed in

1968. TCS is the largest provider of information technology and business

process outsourcing in Asia. With its headquarter in Mumbai, it has 42 offices in

country and 142 overall branches across the globe.

According to The Trust Brand Report, 2011 TCS is at 76th position among the

most trusted brand.

TCS provide the products like TCS Bancs, Healthcare management system, and

Digital certification of products with services like BPO, Outsourcing and

Software products.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND CORPORATE

SOCIAL RESPNOSIBILITY

Tata Consultancy Services have its corporate social responsibilities on two

different motives - impacting communities directly in line of its business and

concern for preservation of the environment.

For the support in regard to CSR Company have formed 'Maitree', an

association of employees and their families across the globe, and is acting as

an important vehicle of CSR.

TCS is also involved in tsunami relief with Tata Relief Committee as well as

the company is also supporting childrens hospitals in Mumbai for providing

good medical facilities. Overseas employees involved in fund raising for

charity, blood donation camp and in assisting the elderly.

Some of the environmental objectives that TCS set to achieve in 2009-2010

1. Reduction in water, paper and electricity consumption level up to 3% on

an average.

2. Increase the use of natural resources like solar energy and biogas.

3. Environmental friendly disposal of waste.

For the implementation and successful achievement of objective TCS

organized the programs time to time in the campus only.

TCS is also take initiatives to save the resources and also concentrate on the

activities like

1. Rain water harvesting

2. Waste treatment

3. Sewage treatment and reuse

4. Paper and cartridge management.

TCS also understands its responsibility toward labor as TCS focus on equal

opportunities for employees with good working environment free from

discrimination and harassment.

At the top level the company have ethics and compliance committee to audit

the working of company management.

In regard to product TCS follow product quality management program to

provide the best and efficient product with all the features and low cost.

page on its web, where they upload all the press release and receive

feedback from registered people. TCS also release its latest news in

newspapers; a release may be financial result of particular quarter, the facts

& figures and news about any new decision concerning the society.

Webcasts- some of the information is also casted by the TCS on its web page

regarding the quarterly financial results and change in the management like

CEO of company.

INVESTOR RELATION

Company has healthy relation with its investor as it was told by one of the

official we meet during the visit to TCS in New Delhi. TCS remain in touch

with its investor by providing them the information continuously through

website of the company, as website have one section particularly for the

investors only, where the investors can find all the necessary information

needed.

Other information is also provided through release in newspaper and annually

company issue its annual general report where it declares all the financial

data, which help the investors for future decision.

Information on web is also casts regarding the new business solution project

so that investors can come up to understand the project and investing in it

plus it help the companies to add on to there demand of the business solution

requirement.

GOVERNMENT REALTION

The communication between the TCS and government is healthy; TCS

provide the Senior Citizen solution to government so that government can

make it affordable for the citizens to avail the multiple e-services anytime

anywhere.

Communication between the TCS and Government is formal as the

government is also the client of TCS, as TCS provide the IT services to

government so that the government can provide high quality, low cost public

services for benefit of social welfare.

INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Internal communications is the function responsible for

effective communication among participants within an organization.

Formal channels typically fall into one of four broad categories:

Electronic: - Communications that are delivered and/or accessed

electronically, either by computer, telephone, television or other devices.

Examples include email, intranet, video and

webcasts, ,electronic newsletters, podcasts, blogs, Wikis, voicemail,

conference calls, SMS text messaging, screensaver messaging, desktop

alert messages, desktop news feeds and internal social media tools (e.g.:

internal Twitter-style sites such as Yammer)

Print: - Paper-based communications. Examples include magazines,

newsletters, brochures, postcards and other 'desk drops', posters, memos,

communication packs or 'toolkits' for line managers, etc.

Face-to-face: - One-to-one and one-to-many forums where people are

physically present. Examples include a 'cascade' of team meetings or

briefings, conferences, site visits, 'back to the floor', consultation forums,

'brown bag' lunches, round-table discussions, 'town meetings', etc.

Informal channels reflect the non-linear dynamics of a social network and can

be as influential, if not more so, than official channels, often more likely to

stimulate and create discussion and dialogue. The channels may manifest

themselves via the rumour-mill, water-cooler conversations, social

networking, graffiti, spoof newsletters, etc.

Tata Consultancy Services uses mainly the electronic media for the internal

communication. The main emphasis is on emails to communicate within the

organisations, in addition to face to face communication.

Tata Consultancy Services also has an intra net which the employees can

use to gather important information and also get orders from the seniors.

The success of company depends how successful its client in overcoming the

problems and satisfied from the results of the solutions and products

provided.

TCS use the advertisement as its communication tool to attract and

communicate the value of its product and services to the clients. TCS use TV.

advertisement to reflect the success of its various clients as well as it uses

print advertisement to reflect its contribution to its clients in achieving the set

targets and objectives.
