Homopolymerization – combining of like monomers into polymers.

Copolymerization – combining two or more different monomer units

Autoclave - a piece of equipment that applies heat and pressure to combine monomers to form polymers.

Types of Plastics Thermoplastic – plastic which can

be reprocessed or reused. Thermosetting plastic– cannot be

reused/reformed once heated. Definition of plastics – a synthetic

substance made up of a long chain of complex molecules capable of being formed or molded into any desired shape.
