hero. The traditional idea of a hero might be a firefighter running into a burning building, but extraordinary people can often be found in seemingly ordinary situations. A person can be a hero in a wide variety of contexts. In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch proves himself as a hero through both his actions and his words. Similarly, Sandy Hook Elementary School teacher Janet Vollmer put herself in harm’s way to protect her students.
