Conference Sponsor Request Letter February 5, 2013 On behalf of the Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers I am pleased to inform you about our annual conference, Taking the Long View: The Evolving Role of Nurse Leaders from Bedside to Boardroom to be held at the Saguaro Hotel, Scottsdale, Arizona on June 19-20, 2013. This conference will bring together nursing and healthcare leaders from across the country to discuss important issues
related to the current and future nursing workforce of America. In addition to the conference, a meeting of the individual member organizations of the Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers will occur on June 21st. Planning for our nation’s workforce needs is critical in light of all the changes ahead related to healthcare reform, staffing, education, and more. Conference speakers include Peter Buerhaus, PhD, RN, FAAN; Linda Burnes-Bolton, DrPH, RN, FAAN, Karen Daley, PhD, MPH, RN, FAAN, Bill Lecher, RN, MS, Diana Mason, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Kathy Malloch, PhD, RN, FAAN. These speakers and other breakout session presenters will be leading discussions related to workforce data, nursing leadership, and education of our future healthcare providers. In addition, Susan Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, Director, Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action will share the national update on Action Coalition work across the country.
