Plug the MBB modem into a USB port on your computer. 2. An autorun wizard should appear. If the autorun wizard fails to load, you will need to go to My Computer and double-click on the USB icon. 3. Click Next to begin the setup Wizard. 4. The Join Air installation utility should appear. Click Next. 5. Choose where you would like to install the software, then click Next. 6. Click Finish to complete the wizard. Mac OS X 1. Plug the MBB modem into a USB port on your computer. 2. An icon should appear on your Desktop automatically and a Finder window should open. 3. The Join Air utility should appear, click Continue. 4. Click Install or Change Install Location if you wish to install the software to a specific folder. 5. When the installation is complete, click Close to end the installer. NOTE: If you are running Mac OS X 10.7 or 10.8, you may need to follow our workaround guide at the bottom of the guide. Configuring MBB service for ZTE MF652 3G modem

This manual covers: • installing your ZTE MF652 modem (Windows and Macintosh) • connecting to the Internet • work-around for Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8 • disconnecting the modem

Installing your MBB USB modem

Microsoft Windows

1. Plug the MBB modem into a USB port on your computer. 2. An autorun wizard should appear. If the autorun wizard fails to load, you will need to go to My Computer and

double-click on the USB icon. 3. Click Next to begin the setup Wizard. 4. The Join Air installation utility should appear. Click Next. 5. Choose where you would like to install the software, then click Next. 6. Click Finish to complete the wizard.

Mac OS X

1. Plug the MBB modem into a USB port on your computer. 2. An icon should appear on your Desktop automatically and a Finder window should open. 3. The Join Air utility should appear, click Continue. 4. Click Install or Change Install Location if you wish to install the software to a specific folder. 5. When the installation is complete, click Close to end the installer.

Configuring your MBB connection

Step 1

The first time you run your MBB software, you will be prompted for an SP Code:

SP code for MBB service is 111a1

Click OK once you have entered the SP Code.

Step 2

The Wireless Broadband (Join Air) screen will be displayed.

Click Connect at the bottom right of the window to connect to the Internet: test that you can browse the web.

NB: If you are running Mac OS X 10.7 or 10.8, you may be unable to click "Connect" - if so, you need to follow our workaround guide at the bottom of the page.

Disconnecting the MBB device

Click the Disconnect button to disconnect the Internet.

If you would like to remove the USB device: - Microsoft Windows: Select the Safely Remove Hardware icon at the bottom-right corner of your

screen. - Mac OS X: Drag the Wireless BB icon from your Desktop to the Trash.

Workaround for Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8

If you have installed your MBB device, but the "Join Air" software won't allow you to connect, follow the steps below to work-around the problem:

Step 1

Close the 'Join Air' software if it is still open.

Go to the Apple Menu at the top left corner of your screen, then System Preferences.

Go to Network (located in the third row)

Select ZTEUSBModem from the panel in the left.

Enter the Telephone Number as *99#.

Step 2 Click Advanced at the bottom right of the screen.

Set the Vendor to Generic.

Set the Model to GRPS (GSM/3G).

Set the APN to SPLNS111A1

Click OK to save the settings.

Click Apply then Connect to connect to the Internet.
