Conformal Coating Masking Tapes SCH Technologies offer a range of conformal coating masking solutions for printed circuit boards which includes masking tapes, dots and custom masking boots. These masking materials are used in our own global coating services and are a tried and tested solution. The Masking Process Masking tapes are commonly used during the liquid & parylene conformal coating process to prevent the coatings leaking into areas that it is not required. Many parts and components such as connectors have to be masked off as they must remain uncoated by the conformal coating. Other areas include masking off grounding planes, test points and mounting holes which must be free of coating. This allows the circuit board to be conformal coated successfully with the various application processes such as dipping and spraying without damaging the PCB in the process. Masking Tapes Available ConnectSafe tape i s u s e d for masking components like connectors on the printed circuit board. ConnectSafe is available in sizes 25mm, 38mm and 50mm. Precise Mask tape is used for masking grounding planes and flat sections such as edges of PCBs. Precise Mask tape is available in sizes 3mm, 6mm, 12mm and 19mm. DESCRIPTION

The SCH Technologies range of conformal coating masking tapes are used in our own global coating services for both liquid and parylene coatings and are a tried and tested solution. These masking materials are used in our own global coating services and are a tried and tested solution. Why Use Our Masking Tapes?SCH Technologies have trialled and tested a lot of different masking tapes over a long period of time. Some adhesive tapes have problems being used for conformal coating processing and these issues included:Reacting in an adverse way with the conformal coatings themselves to produce de wetting effectsLeaving adhesive residues when removed which need to be removedAllowing bleeding / leaking under the tape of the conformal coating during the application processNot staying sealed for long enough during processingTearing when removed from the circuit board leaving residues of the tape behindCompatible with all types of conformal coatings including solvent based acrylic, silicone and polyurethane materials
