Connecting the DotsBy the 1980’s and 90’s, US public education was transformed intoa RE-Segregated Schooling System that depended upon:

• the Deprofessionalization of Teaching

• the criminalization of Black/Latino Youth

• a Deeper more insidious form of Eurocentric Anti-IntellectualEducation

• a Public Trough for Private Corporations to suck up Billions of tax

payers’ dollars

• The Systematic Disappearance of Black Educators

justify the myth of Black disfunctionality

and massive corporate intervention such as:A Nation at Risk (1983)

Project for a New America (1997)

No Child Left Behind Act (2001-present)

EXAMPLE: the conservative,market-driven school reforms thattook place in New Orleans afterHurricane Katrina. ConservativeEconomics Guru, Milton Friedman, sought to permanently providevouchers for children to attend private

schools – and lobbied against ANYrehabilitation of public schools. Hehelped to transform the New Orleanspublic School system into an AllCharter system run by a Gates-Broad-ALEC based group of

Education Privateers.
