WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD

+HYMN 688 “Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart” MORECAMBE

+AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (from Romans 8)

What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not withhold his own Son, But gave him up for all of us, Will he not with him also give us everything else? Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised, Who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, Or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors Through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, Nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor powers, nor height, nor depth, Nor anything else in all creation, Will be able to separate us From the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE OFFERING OFFERTORY ANTHEM (11:00)

“This Joyful Eastertide" - Evelyn R. Larter This joyful Eastertide, away with care and sadness! My Lord, the crucified, has filled this day with gladness. Had Christ, who once was slain, not burst his three-day prison, our faith would be in vain. But now has Christ arisen. Death's waters cannot chill since Jesus crossed the river. His love will keep me still; his mercy is forever. Now let us all rejoice kept safe within God's keeping, until the trumpet voice shall call us from our sleeping.

G.R. Woodward

+DOXOLOGY (606) OLD HUNDREDTH Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

+PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON (from 1 Corinthians 15) Brothers and sisters, if for this life only we have hoped in Christ, We are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, The first fruits of those who have died. For as all die in Adam, So all will be made alive in Christ. Let us all believe this good news: In Jesus Christ, there is life eternal!

+GLORIA PATRI (581) GREATOREX Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, World without end. Amen, Amen.

PASSING OF THE PEACE The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all! And also with you!
