Metering pump range upgraded ProMinent Fluid Controls' well established Sigma range of motor driven metering pumps has been upgraded with the introduction of the Sigma/3. The Sigma/3 not only extends the metering capacity to a maximum of 1000 1/hr but also features significantly improved mic- roprocessor control and display functions.

A new method of metering control used in the Sigma/3 features a combination of frequency and on/off con- trol. At higher flow rates, metering is controlled by closed loop speed control, while at lower dosing rates, a simple on/off system is used. Switching between the two systems occurs completely automatically.

The pump has a capacity range of 145 to 1030 1/hr at a back pressure of 12 to 4 bar. Delivery capacity can be varied by adjusting the stroke length in

0.5% steps. Metering repro- ducibility of 2% can be achieved over stroke lengths of 30 - 100%.

The Sigma/3 also features a liquid crystal display with large format characters and self-regulating illumination which allows easy reading of display values even under the most unfavourable lighting conditions. There is also a direct readout of delivery volume, which is displayed in 1/hr or US gal/hr.

Wellpointing with minimum moving parts Godwin Pumps' Dri-Prime ® pump for wellpointing appli- cations is designed for high volume dewatering systems and yet remains fully suitable for sewer bypass and general dewatering applications. The units have maximum flow rates to 1800 gpm and discharge heads to 130 ft.

According to Godwin Pumps, the primary feature of this model is its single action, wellpoint air separation tank and valve. The assembly is compact, operates with a minimum of moving parts and protects the vacuum system in high water level conditions. The device has been granted a patent pending for its innovative design.

The Godwin Dri-Prime CD150MV is also manufactured

with Viton T M elastomer and seals that are hydrocarbon resistant. This feature makes the pump ideal for contaminated ground water applications where hydrocarbons must be stripped from ground water in site remediation. The pump is available on a skid base or high-

way trailer mount and with a variety of diesel engines.

Handhold device detects motor rotation Bell & Gossett has produced an easy-to-use gadget that deter- mines the direction of rotation of any electric motor in seconds.
