Course Aim : To provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to assist in their survival

in the event of an emergency offshore with the proper use of available emergency

equipment.

Course Objectives : By the end of the one day programmed, participants will have an understanding and

a thorough knowledge of the following :

• Launch and inflate a life raft.

• Re-right and board a life raft

unassisted.

• Life raft management techniques.

• Life raft emergency equipment and

usage.

• Basic injury management.

• Basic survival techniques in open

water

Competency : All participants must demonstrate the ability to re-right a life raft unassisted, and

complete a questionnaire in order to pass the course.

Method Of Training : This course is conducted in two phases. Initial phase is a half day theory course

covering all aspects of the life raft and survival at sea. This classroom training

utilizes demonstrations of all equipment and discussion on the uses and method of

use of the emergency equipment, and Projector presentation to assist.

The second phase is an entirely practical training section conducted in a water

environment, where all participants are required to practice and demonstrate the

application of all techniques learned in both sessions.

Course Aim : To provide participants with survival and emergency training in order to prepare

them for an emergency in an offshore environment. Day 1 - Sea Survival, Day 2 -

Basic Fire Fighting & Introduction to Breathing Apparatus, Basic Life Support.

Course Objectives: By the end of the two days programme, participants will have an understanding and

a thorough knowledge of the following:

• Sea Survival skills and techniques • Using, don & doff breathing apparatus

• Life raft procedures & management • Basic Life-support - EAR, CPR,

• Basic Fire Fighting theory DRABC's protocols

• Practical use of fire extinguishers, fire

blankets

Competency : All participants must demonstrate the ability to egress an upturned HUET module

unassisted, demonstrate the effective use of fire extinguishment mediums and

conduct EAR and CPR in accordance with appropriate internationally recognized

standards. All participants must complete a questionnaire in order to pass the

course.

Method Of Training : This course is conducted in two phases - 2 days

Day One Course module is guidelines set with E&P Forum, UKOOA, OPITO,

IMO -STCW'95 & AMSA for Sea Survival Course

Day Two Consist of basic emergency training including Fire Fighting and using,

don & doff breathing apparatus.

The basic life support course with guideline set of International Red

Cross.

This training can be conducted at remote locations with sufficient resources such as

a swimming pool and a suitable open area for fire training.

Pre-Requisite : All participants must demonstrate an appropriate level of medical fitness with a

clearance form before participating in the practical sessions.

Course Aim : To provide participants with survival and emergency training in order to prepare them

COURSE CONTENT On completion of this activity, participants will be able to demonstrate a competence in the theory and practice of the following: • Types of life-saving appliances normally carried on ships • Equipment in Survival Craft • Location of personal life-saving appliances • Principles concerning survival at sea including: Value of training and drills Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (PPE) The need to be prepared for any emergency Actions to be taken when called to survival craft stations Actions to be taken when required to abandon ship / offshore installation Actions to be taken when in the water Actions to be taken when aboard a survival craft (life raft etc.) Main dangers to survivors Rescue Techniques

COMPETENCY Participants are required to pass an assessment of practical skills and a written or verbal examination of theory. PRE REQUISITE Seafarers are required to be medically fit as per Regulation 1/9 of STCW95. COURSE DURATION This course is conducted over two (2) days. METHOD OF TRAINING Classroom theory sessions followed by practical periods. Resource requirements are classroom and associated equipment and access to a swimming pool, lake or sea.

• Make an assessment of the needs of casualties and threats to their own safety

• Have an understanding of immediate measures to be taken in cases of

emergencies including the ability to:

• Position the casualty • Apply resuscitation techniques • Control bleeding • Apply appropriate measures of

basic shock management • Apply appropriate measures in

the event of burns and scalds, including electrical

• and chemical burns • Apply rescue and transport of a

casualty technique • Improvise bandages and use

materials in an emergency kit • Knowledge of basic fracture

COMPETENCY To be awarded a certificate in Elementary First Aid in accordance with the requirements of the STCW 95 Code, delegates will successfully complete the following; • Demonstrate the correct techniques and procedures on a mannequin or person

Competency : All participants must complete at least 3 unassisted escapes from the helicopter

module & complete a questioner in order to pass the course.

Method Of Training : We can conduct this course ON-SITE anywhere utilizing a hotel swimming pool or

similar (min.depth requirement 1.8 meters).

Course Aim : To equip trainees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to ensure an

appropriate response to a fire emergency, and to ensure the proper use and

knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures to enhance their survival in a

fire emergency.

Course Objectives : At the end of the one day programme, participants will have an understanding and a

thorough

knowledge of the following;

• Fire causes basic fire

chemistry.

• Use of portable firefighting

equipment.

• Prevention of fire. • Escape from a fire environment

Competency : All participants must demonstrate the ability to use portable fire fighting appliances

to fight fire, and complete a questionnaire in order to pass the course.

Method Of Training : Initial classroom sessions to cover fire chemistry and emergency equipment.

Practical training portable fire fighting usage, and smoke escape procedures.

Course Aim: BBAASSIICC FFIIRRSSTT AAIIDD

To provide participants with the knowledge and practice of the medical first aid

required by first respondents.

Course Objectives: By the end of the three day course participants will be able to describe and

demonstrate: -

Basic life support - EAR - CPR

• Bleeding control

• Burns

• Breaks

• Site approach

• Casualty assessment

• Stabilization

• Transportation requirements

• First aid kits

Competency : Assessment of the participants competency is assessed by either a practical or by a

written and or oral test.

Venue Required : Lecture room environment with access to an outdoor training venue.

Method Of Training : This course is conducted at a venue, which will be suitable for the theory and

practical instruction of all participants and will include the provision of catering, visual

teaching aids and writing materials.

Equipment : The provision of first aid training equipment is dependent on the consultation

between the company and the training provider.

COURSE AIM Provides participants who are required to take charge of a fast rescue craft (FRC)

with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and competently launch,

manoeuvre and recover an FRC.

COURSE CONTENT On completion of this activity, participants will be able to demonstrate a competence

in the theory and practice of the following:

• Craft description and checks

• Crew dress and equipment

• Crew responsibilities

• Capsize procedures

• Launch and recovery

• Man overboard procedures

• Helicopter recovery

• Search patterns

• General handling skills

• Casualty handling

COMPETENCY Participants are required to pass an assessment of practical skills and a written or

verbal examination of theory.

PRE REQUISITE STCW 95 Regulation V1/2 “states” that the mandatory minimum requirements for

the issue of certificates of proficiency in fast rescue boats are:

Every candidate for a certificate of proficiency in fast rescue boats shall:

• Hold a certificate of proficiency in survival craft / rescue boats other than fast

rescue boats

• Have attended an approved training course

• Meet the standard of competency for certificates of proficiency in fast rescue

boats set out in section A-V1/2, paragraphs 5 to 8 of the STCW Code.

• Be not less than 18 years

• Valid First Aid Certificate

Note: Seafarers are required to be medically fit as per Regulation 1/9 of STCW 95.

Other trainees are required to be medically fit for FRC training including their

muscular-skeletal, respiratory system, eyes and ears as a minimum.

COURSE DURATION The course is conducted over one (1) day.

METHOD OF TRAINING This course is best conducted utilising the Rescue craft that participants on

completion will crew. Classroom theory sessions followed by practical periods

Who should attend ? Potential and existing operators who have received no formal instruction and those

requiring refresher training.

Duration : 2 days including relevant safety awareness modules and

achievement test. Aims : To give foundation training and testing towards the achievement of

SYP Card.

Note : Operators should note that the issue of a SYP Card is dependent

upon passing the achievement test.

Content : At the end of the course slinger/signaler should be able to :

• Establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information

to the crane operator.

• Select appropriate lifting tackle and attach and detach it correctly and safely

• Direct the actions of a crane moving loads of various weight and dimensions,

METHOD OF TRAINING (Jungle Survival Training ) The basic course is conducted over 2 days with a "hands-on" focus. Day 2 is

primarily practical training in a jungle environment, whilst Day 1 is predominantly

theory based. The training is available ON-SITE or in East Java region.
