CPS Tabs

When working in the prepare tab, you’re in edit mode. You are editing

class lists, lessons etc.

When working in the Engage tab, you’re engaging your

students in the lessons you have created.

When working in the Reports tab you are able to generate

and view various reports from lesson that you have engaged your students in; keeps record

Creating Your CPS Database

Click on the CPS icon on you desktop

Choose “Create a new CPS Database” and click

OK

Title the file and save it where you

would like and click “Save”

Your database will appear in the CPS system.

Creating Class Lists

Click on New and Class

Choose Other and click Next

Choose No and click Next

Fill in required information

marked by an * and click Next

Again, fill in required

information marked by an

* and click Next

You do have the option of creating another class if you need to by repeating all these steps, if not click

on Done.

Congrats! Your class will now appear in your database as you have titled it.

Adding Students

Under the Prepare tab and classes & students click on New and click Student. Make sure the class is highlighted that you want to add students to.

Begin typing in your students name. Hit enter to continually type in names.

The Pad ID corresponds to the clicker the student is assigned to.

Remember to save your database after you have entered in all your students.

Setting up a Lesson

You will now be working in the Lessons & Assessments sub tab to create your CPS lesson

To create a new lesson, click on New and then click Lesson.

Type in a title for your lesson. This title will be what appears in your database. Click ok after you have entered in your Title.

Your lesson will appear in you database

Adding Questions to Lessons

To create a Question in your new lesson, highlight the lesson you would like to add questions to and click New and then Question.

There are various features that you can use for creating questions.

Create new question, save, close, alter fontsChange question formats, preview questions, and check spelling

Type in your question and answer choices

Be sure to mark the correct answer.

Click Save and close after you have entered in all your questions.

Engaging in a Lesson

You will now be working in the Engage tab under Lessons & Assessments.

Check the lesson you would like to engage the students in and make sure you are on the right class list, then click Engage

Click Next to move into your CPS lesson .

Click start and the session will be engaged. .

You will be able to see who is answering in because their clicker number will turn a dark blue.

Once the timer has ran out, or you have stop the question the correct answer will be noted with a check mark. You will see a display of how many people choose which answer as well as statistics on correct responses.

To end the session click on the red exit and hit close on the tool bar.
