That former teacher is Larry Holm who spent 20 years working in School District #6 at Jewett Elementary School and Scenic Middle School. Larry, known by many of his friends and for-mer students as “Holmer” was known as a colorful character that loved working with and being around young people. Whether it was on the

soccer field, classroom or on a hike down the lower Rogue with students, he never varied in his caring and nurturing at-titude toward young people. His desire to continue his in-teraction with kids convinced him even after retirement to substitute when possible so that he could fulfill his desire to work with kids. We applaud Larry as another in a long line of outstanding retired educators from School District #6 who have made a difference in countless young people’s lives.
