Hi Friends!!
If you have one internet connection at home and you want to share that network across all laptop computers,smart phones, tablets having WiFi but you don’t have a router, then you don’t need to worry about as you canshare your network with all other devices in few easy steps. You don't need any software (like virtual routeretc) to create WiFi connection. How to do this? Let’s take a look.
1. First make sure you are connected to internet.
2. Go to start mentu > Right click command prompt > Select Run as Administrator

3. Type below commands in the command prompt :
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyWiFiConn key=mypswd1234

Now run below command in the command prompt :
netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Now your wireless connection is ready for use. You can see it in Network and Sharing Center :

For first time usage you need to do below additional steps :Open Network and Sharing Center > Select Change adapter settings from left side panel.

Select the adapter which has internet connection (For example 'Saurabh').Right click and select properties:

Go to Sharing tab: Select the first checkbox to allow other network users to shared this connection and selectyour network adapter/network connection (Wireless Network Connection 2) and click OK.

Now connect to internet and type below command in administrator mode:netsh wlan start hostednetwork
This is all about the establishment of wireless network without a router. You don't need any software for thisconnection. This is much easier than creating adhoc connection. Just try it and enjoy.

Its Not working for me. It says"The hosted network couldn't be started. A device attached to the system is not functioning"
However the my internet is connected and I am able to access the internet. Please help. Thanks.

you cannot do this As reliance has Dynamic IP . your connection will work for 23 hrs and againstop unless you connect one device and login again. Simply change your internet connection tothat which allows sharing.

My Wifi was off thats why I was getting that error. However even after turning on my wifi it didn't work. WhenI share the network connection it says "Cannot enable shared access. Error 0x80004005:Unexpected Error"

hi.. i did as said above, but my mobile is not getting connected to the network.. it says "authenticationproblem" in the network and sharing window of my laptop, it shows Access Type: No network Access .. plhelp..

I have Reliance NetConnect+ 2G dongle and I followed the entire process but got stuck in the last stepwhere after clicking on 'Allow other network users' it says 'An error occurred while ISC was being enabled.(null)' . Can you pls help me resolve this.

Please change the password & user name as you like by making changes in netsh wlan set hostednetworkmode=allow ssid=MyWiFiConn key=mypswd1234.

In step three if you get an error on pressing "OK" after ticking the check box "Allow other users to.."then just start "Windows Fire Wall service" . For help on starting a windows service google.

hi, I have done with all the steps. On my android phone wifi connection is showing and getting connectedtoo. But if I try to access internet through phone it gives error as "Your internet connection is unstable". Ihave tried this with another android phones but facing same problem.
Is there any problem with my laptop or with Reliance Netconnect + data card stopping me from using Wifi.

you know i am able to get hostednetwork internet working for input from wifi but not reliance broadband..trying to sort it out for more than a year.. now i understood what is the point i missed,that is starting a new connection option and manually assigning the dial up number,, user name , passwordin that new connection. save it.now we can use that new connection client to get the internet via broadband instead of using the softwareprovided by the reliance.with the help of this new connection > property> sharingi can share internet to my hostednetwork.it worked for me..but usually it is not necessary to create new connection option for other than broadband (wifi, 2g,3g) wherewe can directly share the internetin my college we have wifi facility, but it is provided based on ip and mac address binding. they wont give itfor smart phones, they will provide it onl for lap.so i use the hostednetwork to access the internet in my android phone through the internet provided in mycollege wifi

Hi Saurabh,I followed all the procedure mentioned by you. I am able to create and get connected via phone, but still i mnot able to browse internet. Both my usb dongle(Reliance) & created SSID(WLAN 2) displays "Internetaccess". I am able to browse in my laptop but not via mobile. Kindly suggest me to troubleshoot further.Note: few months ago i followed the same procedure mentioned in your blog and i was able to connect andbrowse without any issue, but now i can't.Also I found no issue in my mobile, because I m able to connect my friend bsnl wifi connection and browse.

Nagesh, you can try to reinstall the wirless driver if u are not able to see the virtual driver orgetting above error.
Below are the following steps:
1. Press “windows+x”, and from the list select “device manager”.2. In device manager screen, double click on network adapter, and select wireless driver. In mycase it is "Inter(R) Centrino(R) WirelessN 2230."3. Right click on driver and uninstall it.4. Restart the laptop.5. Driver will reinstall automatically.
