5/24/2010 Creating Backgrounds in PowerPoint
Creating a background in PowerPoint:
Step 1: Open PowerPoint and create your background on a slide. Remember to keep in
mind that the background should be “viewable” from all sides of the SMART Table. Think
“horizontally” and not “vertically”.
Hint: In PowerPoint, turn on your Grids and Guides (View > Grids and Guides) to help you
center and space your objects and words.
Step 2: Save your slide as an image. File > Save As > Select Save as Type and choose .png
or .jpg (.png is a larger file size) and select the file name.

Step 3: You will be prompted to save current slide or every slide if you have multiple slides. If
you have multiple slides/background pages you are creating, you can create and save all
of the slides at one time.
Step 4: Your slide will look like this as an image file.
Step 5: Open up SMART Table Toolkit and select the file folder. Locate the image file you
saved.
