Artist’s Statement 2010We all face ‘choices’ on a daily basis. Some are small, others momentous and life changing. Decision making is not always easy and we don’t always get it right.

These verses from the book of Jeremiah are an encouragement to see choices, and indeed life, as a positive thing. Jeremiah exhorts us to take time to ‘stand and look’, to consider the good choices others have made and to lead our lives in a ‘good way’. I take great encouragement from the promise that we will then find peace in our souls.

I hope that in viewing these works and the hundred or so in the exhibition, you will find peace as you face your own personal choices and decisions. As you stand at your own ‘crossroads’ may you be inspired to look for and choose the ‘good way’.

This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of

Dan Keen 1950–17November2009

Dan was a faithful and dear friend whose support and help at this exhibition over the last ten years has been invaluable to me. He epitomised someone who always strove to choose the ‘good way’ and who encouraged others to do so as well. He is sorely missed but is ‘just around the corner’.

Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
