STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE BY THIS TIME Dear OLGC Families, We had another great week at OLGC Parish School! Thank you for attending the Opening Mass of the school year and vision casting event. God has great plans for our school. This event was an invitation to be an active participant in our journey to offer a life-changing encounter with Jesus and equip leaders to transform the culture. Families were invited to sign a pledge of commitment to support and live our mission. If you were unable to attend the vision casting, please view this event by following this link: https://youtu.be/1UfNlRrOKm0. Pledge cards are available in our school office. We welcome all feedback as we move forward with our strategic plan. Please also consider participating on our school improvement team or an action team this year. Interest forms are available in the front office. A Coffee Chat with the principal will be held at the end of this month to discuss our strategic plan in more detail. We also ask for your prayerful support of our school community (school, families, and parish). The mission of our school drives everything we do. It is the reason we exist. Each class has had the opportunity to create a classroom mission statement that aligns directly to our school mission. Students are beginning to understand the importance of our school mission and how they are an integral stakeholder. As you visit our school, make sure you check out our classroom mission statements! In Christ, Mrs. Hunt

This week in the chapel, fourth grade students used their imaginations to picture Jesus sitting next to them. During this time of prayer, students shared their hearts with Jesus. They had a chance to write or draw what they experienced sitting in His presence. Many students used words such as calm, happy, peaceful to describe their experience. Helping students encounter Jesus is what we are all about here at OLGC.

Last week in the Crusader Connection, there was an article looking for help with a new initiative called ‘Fight the Good Fight’. This initiative helps strengthen, inspire, and challenge

our parents to build the faith and discipleship of their families. The goal is to provide practical ways to do this through prayer, talking points, stories, and various media outlets. Volunteers are needed to research resources, write content, and possibly assist with web needs. The framework and many topics are already in place. Help is needed to carry out these plans and assist with future issues. If interested contact Suzanne Moser at 512-689-6827 or Beth Borys at 734-752-9644.
