Donations of new, unwrapped $5 toys will be collected in homerooms through December 17. The homeroom that collects the most toys will receive lunch line passes. LCHS has set a goal of 600 toys. If students reach that goal, they will be rewarded with a casual dress day on December 18. If they collect 800 toys, the Varsity Club officers have pledged a special surprise. The goal of the Toys for Tots program is to deliver, through the gift of a toy, a message of hope to children who might not otherwise receive a Christmas present. Since 1995, the Marine Toys for Tots program has distributed more than 494 million toys to more than 230 million less fortunate children. Host families provide meals, a bedroom and a warm family environment. Hosting a young person from another country is an interesting and rewarding experience.
