  • Scientists think that early cultures has four major advances in technology. First was the invention of tools millions of years agoSecond and Third were control of fire and the beginning of agriculture. Fourth was the development of civilization.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxhfdhxJOog

  • Explaining the MAJOR ADVANCES:For most of human existence people were hunters and gatherers. While traveling from placeto place, they collected wild plants, hunted game, and fished.

Later, people discovered how to grow crops. They tamed wild animals to help them with workor to raise for food. Over time, more and more people relied on farming for most of their food.Historians call this great change the Agricultural Revolution.

Agriculture provided a steady food supply. Agriculture let farmers grow more food than theyneeded. In parts of Asia and Africa, some people worked full time on crafts such as metalworking. They traded their products for food. People began to develop laws and government. To store information, they developed writing. These advances in culture produced the first truecivilizations about 5,000 years ago.

Early civilization development new technologies, such as irrigation, that let people grow morecrops. Over time, farming and civilization spread throughout the world.

Then, about 200 years ago, people began to invent new technologies that used power-drivenmachinery. This change marked the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. It led to the growthof cities, Science and even more advanced technologies, such as computers and space. This will be a question on your exam hint hint **********
