PREVIOUS WORK:- Translator of the Defence Section, British Embassy, Cairo, Egypt. (29

March 2003 – 31 March 2016). Work included translation of a variety of documents (letters, reports, Powerpoint files, Excel files, etc.).

- Freelance editing of auto-translation for LangRC, a company working with IBM towards achieving smart auto-translation software. I worked with them until the project ended (Sep. 09 – March 10).

- Temporary receptionist at the Consulate of Ireland, Alexandria (2002). - I was involved in a private Internet project related to the Suez Canal. Duties

included translation; coordination of technical activities and office managing; internet searches; accumulating data for databases and data entry; and some IT work including preparation of on-line help files for users of the site (search engine); choosing articles, editing them, preparing them for publication, and publishing them on the project’s site; choosing and preparing images for the site using Adobe Photoshop; preparing slide shows; translation work of different material (English/Arabic, Arabic/English). (October 2000 – June 2002)

- Taught Computer software courses at “Modern Education Services” (MES) off and on for one year (1997-1998).

- Responsible for the “Resources’ Room” at the Alexandria Language School (ALS) for one year plus some work as receptionist and secretary (August 1991 – August 1992).

- Freelance translator for the Wastewater Consulting Group (WWCG) for two years (Arabic/English-English/Arabic) (1978-1980).
