Save 75 pictures of your character and edit approximately half of them with fotoflexer, lunapic, or pixlr. Make sure to use Google images, then “search tools” and make sure the size of the picture is at least 1024X768 (or bigger). Click on “view image” to make you can see the whole picture, and then “save image.” If the image is blocked with a web filter, then look for another one that isn’t. Getting started: (don’t start until we do it as a class) 1. Open the Cyberlink program from the desktop 2. Import your pictures files from your class folder by clicking on the “Media Room” icon (or hit F3) 3. Click on the “import media” icon and load all of your pictures 4. Now drag your pictures to the timeline below (lower left hand corner). Move the slider to zoom in on your clips on the timeline since it will be pretty small. 5. Make sure all clips on the timeline are at least 5 seconds in duration (Click on the “duration” button above the first timeline. To edit the clips (motion, mask, and properties) 1. Double click on any of your clips 2. You can edit some of the clips by clicking on the tabs. 3. For the “fade in, fade out” effect, go to the “properties” tab and then “fades.” Make sure the boxes are checked next to “enable fade-in and enable fade-out.” 4. Cyberlink PowerDirector Guidelines/Assignment

1. Directions: Choose a super-hero (Batman, Superman, etc.) or villain to do your research on. Write page and 1/2

of notes researching information from the internet.

Mix them up a bit. Some can have a transition and some do not. The most common in video editing is the “fade out”

from “2d.”

For Effects:

1. Go to the “Effects room” or press F8 on your keyboard. Take one of the effects and drag them to the fx track on the

bottom

2. You can extend the effects through multiple clips or just one if you’d like.

To add text:

1. Click on “Title room” or hit F7 on your keyboard.

For your title clip:

2. Click on the text box and change the fonts, font size, etc. Click on the motion tab to create an effect for your title clip.

3. Click the slider on the bottom to see your text effect.

4. Click on “save as” at the bottom to give your text clip a title. Hit “okay” when you’re done and you should see it

appear in the window.

5. Drag that title clip to the text track on the bottom

6. Extend the title clip if you’d like to make it stretch across more than one picture clip on the first track.

Make the rest of your text clips:

1. Now make the rest of your text clips throughout the movie. Spread your clips so they’re not all at the beginning or all

in the middle. They don’t all have to have motion effects too.

To make the overlays (picture-in-picture):

1. Try to use pictures that you didn’t use for your movie so far. Take the picture from your library and drag to video track

#2.

3. Double click on the clip on the timeline and you should see this:

4. Re-size on the picture. You should see the picture getting smaller and smaller. While clicking on the picture, go to

“modify” above the timeline.

5. Click on the “mask” tab and choose from one of the shapes. Click on “motion” to put an effect on it. Hit “play” to see

the preview in the window. Click “save” when you’re done.

6. Try to put two “picture in pictures” for your clips if you want. You can also use a video as your overlay if you want.

For audio extra credit:

1. Bring in two songs or more on a flash drive or send it to “dropbox” if you want it from home.

Grading criteria:

1. A minimum of 10-12 text clips spread throughout the movie

2. 20 pictures minimum edited with any of the picture editing websites.

3. 10 of the video effects (fx)

4. Minimum of 12 transition clips.

5. 2 audio clips

6. Minimum of 5 overlay clips (a video can be one too)

7. 1 ½ page rough draft (front and back)
