As per the agreement reached with the NFTE-BSNL the management is earmarking 500 vacancies every year for the qualified TTA’s who have already completed the JTO training. Still there are more than 2000 TTA’s waiting for JTO’s promotions in the country. But the recent judgment delivered by the Punjab High Court in a case filed by the Association of Directly recruited TTA’s in BSNL has shattered the hope of departmental candidates. The court in its order instructed the BSNL management not to earmark 500 JTO vacancies from the outside quota. NFTE-BSNL will discuss this issue at the National executive committee meeting held at New Delhi from 15th to 16th July 2008.
