Danger Tree Information What is a danger tree? MEA defines danger trees as structurally unsound trees, located on or off the right-of-way, that could come into contact with power lines by growing, falling or swaying into energized lines. Members who report a danger tree can expect up to six months wait time before a crew is able to inspect the danger tree. Once MEA has determined the tree is a true danger tree, crews will cut or trim the tree so it is no longer a potential hazard. MEA is not responsible for clean up or the removal of trees and branches once downed. How can I report a danger tree?
