Daniel 8: The Vision

• Dan 8:4 I saw the ram pushing westward and northward and southward; so that no beasts could stand before him, nor any that could deliver out of his hand. But he did according

to his will, and became great.

Daniel 8: The Vision• Dan 8:5 … a he-goat came from the west, over the

face of the all earth, and did not touch the ground (=very fast). And the he goat had an outstanding horn between his eyes.

• Dan 8:6 And he came to the ram that had two horns….ran to him in the fury of his power.

• Dan 8:7 … struck the ram and shattered his two horns.

• Dan 8:8 Then the he-goat became very great. And when he was strong, the great horn was broken. And in its place came up four outstanding ones towards the four winds of the heavens.

Timing of Daniel 8’s vision

• Dan 8:15 And it happened when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me the form of a man.

• Dan 8:16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called and said, Gabriel, make this one understand the vision.

• Dan 8:17 So he came near beside my place. And when he came, I was afraid and fell on my face. But he said to me, Understand, O son of man, for the vision is for the time of the end.

Timing of Daniel 8’s vision

• Daniel 8 is a vision on the End Time• However, to give us the context to understand the

vision, not every part of the vision is about the End Time…

• We must find out which part is related to the End Time ourselves – use History to unravel the vision !

• Dan 8:20 The ram which you saw having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

• The “fierce king” is symbolized by the “little horn”:

• Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which became very great, toward the south and toward the east and toward the bountiful land.

– The bountiful land is the Land of the People of God; Israel !

– Daniel 8 tells us where he will originate !

the “little devil” – Spefically targets the mighty and the holy people !!

• Dan 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself, even to the ruler of the host– The Mahdi means the ‘righteously guided one’– He is Allah’s representative on earth– What he says is what Allah says – he is like a god

• Dan 8:24 He will become very strong, but not by his own power. He will cause astounding devastation and will succeed in whatever he does.

– 'at your treasure (caliphate) three persons would quarrel, all of them would be sons of the Khalifa. But none of them would succeed in acquiring it. Afterwards black flags would appear and they would kill you so that no other race would have been killed in that manner. After that the Khalifa of AllahAS, MahdiAS, would appear. When you hear about him go to him, make covenant (Ba'ith) with him, even if you had to go crawling over the snow.'

Why the Mahdi fulfills the prophecy: acts

• Dan 8:25 When they feel secure, he will destroy many …– Peace treaty with Israel (Jews are chanting: peace and safety !)

– How often do Muslim countries break their treaties ?

• And take his stand against the Prince of princes (= Jesus). – Muslims will attack Israel

– “Wipe Israel off the map”

• Dan 8:25 Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power. – No human army can defeat the Madhi’s army

– Only when Jesus returns, He will destroy the Mahdi (see: Rock that strikes the foot in Nebucannessar’s statue)

What will the Mahdi do

Mat 24:15 Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand). Mat 24:16 Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains. Mat 24:17 Let him on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house; Mat 24:18 nor let him in the field turn back to take his clothes. What will the Mahdi do

How long will it last ?• Dan 8:13 …”Until when shall the vision last,

concerning the daily sacrifice and the transgression that astounds, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled?

• Dan 8:14 And he said to me, For two thousand, three hundred evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be vindicated.
