Project: USCG District 13 Wear IT Type: Web/Print/Signage Group When: Initially 2004 Brief: None – self generated. There is a National safe boating campaign called “Wear It” to promote Life Jacket wear. The campaign graphics provided do not detail particular risks. This basic design and the resulting elements were developed to educate boaters about particular risks and remind people to wear life jackets across a wide variety of water activities. Particular emphasis was added for children and parents to “Wear IT together”. Use: These have been printed in signage and booth displays used in the Pacific Northwest (USCG District 13), the Mid-Atlantic (USCG District 5) and online. In 2011 these were adopted by the National Park Service for the Upper Delaware River. New York State Parks plans to utilize a number of the graphics part of a 2012-13 signage & web campaign and has commissioned a new graphic for stand-up paddle boarding. Existing assets leveraged: “Wear IT” wording & risk discussions with USCG boating safety staff.
