My Heavenly Father,

24 years ago, You brought me forth from my mother’s womb. I didn’t know my true purpose of coming to this world until I knew You. 20 months

ago, You led me to the United States without knowing my true purpose of 

coming to this country, but You loved me before I even knew Your name.

I came from a non‐Christian family in Shanghai China. I didn’t have any

Christian friends and never heard of Your Gospel. Marvelously, You sent me

to a Christian family when I first arrived. Since then, my life was filled with

You. I experienced Your love for the first time through the unconditional

kindness from James and Taili. I was deeply impressed by their love and

wisdom. When I began to read the Bible, I found that all the ultimate

questions that I had been thinking of since my childhood were answered,

and You foresaw what I want to ask. Because You perceive my thoughts

from afar, You know them completely. You let the Holy Spirit work in my

heart so that I can hear what You say. It was Your people and Your words

that inspired me to seek You seriously. 6 months later, I made the most 

important decision in my life; I accepted Your son, Jesus Christ, as my

personal savior.

I had always been enjoying a prosperous life since I was born. I’m the

only child in my family. My parents always give me their love and attention.

On the outside, I appeared tough, but I didn’t realize on the inside how

fragile I was. You know that the first two months of this year were hard for

me. I didn’t share my sadness with my parents because I didn’t want to

worry them. I pretended to be fine in front of my friends because I didn’t 

want to show my weakness. Every night of suffering, You are close to Your

heartbroken daughter, You know all my sorrows and pains. Only in Your

arms could I release my frustration and honest humble cry. I had no

complaints, because I knew You were preparing me to be Your instrument.

One afternoon, You gave me a dream, wherein Your will was clearly

revealed to me. I saw myself pulling thorns out of my hands in my dream.

Right after I woke up, with my Bible lay open next to me, the scripture on

that opened page jumped out at me. 2 Corinthians 12:7: ”To keep me from

becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there

was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.” I

didn’t know for sure what Paul’s thorn was, but I did know, the thorn in my

flesh was the weakness of my faith. Through my dream, You encouraged

me to remove it, and allowed me to become strong and courageous against 

Satan’s attacks. Though my situation remains unchanged, I am certain that 

You have a perfect plan for me. Your Word assures me. All my days are

written in Your book.

Father, thank You for your love and grace which have saved me. My

experiences with You testify that every single word in Your love letter is

true. Please teach me, mode me, prepare me, and mightily use me to lead

other lost sheep to know you and accept you. Let me bear more, so that I

can be strong enough to bear Your kingdom. You are my only purpose in

life. You are the only way to eternity.
