December is here and that m e a n s that Santa is on his way. Let’s hope that you are
deserving and not going to receive a lump of coal. I guess that I’d better star t sucking up to Kelly right now…..
December also sees an end to an era (in a man-ner of speaking)…the end of my term as director, the onset of another Holiday par ty, and new horizons for your next director, Matt McCormick. I will tr y and instill in him the method-ology in newsletter writ-ing. Trust me folks, it is an ar t…. I think that he needs to go into training at the Bud Light Newsletter Writing Camp. I’ll have to
talk to Ahrlin about reser-vations….
On a serious note, I do want to thank everyone, and I mean EVERYONE (from the dealership, board mem-bers, and volunteers) for all of the effor ts done on be-half of the chapter and my-self this year. It truly is a ‘family’ affair and wouldn’t work without such a cohe-sive effor t.
The month of December is a busy time for the dealer-
ship. Here are some impor-tant things happening: It’s time for renewing mem-berships. All local mem-berships will expire on the 31st. You can renew your local membership at the part’s counter anytime or at the next social, which is on December 11th. The cost is $12.00 and does require that you are a current mem-ber in National H.O.G. at that time.
Passport books will be col-lected at the next social along with the ABC’s of Touring. You may also drop them off with Clay if you aren’t able to attend the social.
Another mention is the For-gotten Elderly. We are shop-ping for them at Kmart on December 8th at 6:45 p.m. and then gathering at the dealership at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th for wrapping (don’t
forget to bring an extra scis-sors with you if you can). If you are able to come to one or both nights, your help and companionship is welcomed! We’ll see if we can’t make Loren another fabulous tie….
The Holiday Party is sched-uled for Saturday, January 17th star ting at 5:30 p.m. at the Ramkota. We have been working on a menu to whet your appetite and working on the Bud Light to wet your whistle. (You re-
ally didn’t think that I was going to forget about the adult beverages did you?) The important information is tickets will be $25/per-son until December 20th, after that they will be raised to $30/person. You may purchase these at the parts counter. If you buy them at the December social, you will be entered into a spe-cial drawing for the January social. As always, we have a block of rooms reserved at the hotel under “Black Hills Harley Owner’s Group” at a rate of $74/room (1-4 people). We would love to have all of you come and
join us. Abby Someone will be the band star ting at 8:00 p.m.
I just want to thank every-one again for everything they have done to make this a fun and successful year for me as your direc-tor. See you at the upcom-ing H.O.G. events!
Until next time—Marty
